Buyer beware. You could get stuck for repairs for old worn out equipment breaking down. I have been a customer for 5 years at R&R Renton. Good until today. I rented a 6" chipper for a small job. The guy that checked me out said I had to baby it. I commented that it was very old and looked worn out, and he said "well it's not new". The Vermer chipper I noticed had lots of damage like it had been recently in an accident or rolled over. The performance was as bad, it would stall out chipping a 2" diameter dry limb. It burned oil, ran like it had low compression and no power. But I had a small job and it was working, barely. I was almost finished with the job when it stopped working properly, so I stopped and took it back immediately instead of keeping it to the next day. The guy that checked me out, was there to check me in. He started taking the shoot and blade housing apart. He accused me of "overloading" it and indicated on the paperwork that I was responsible for a new clutch and other repairs. I reported to the woman at the desk, the problems I was having. I told her it was worn out equipment and I brought it back immediately because I could not finish the job. The woman at the counter was hostile, threw the receipt at me, refused to check me in and settle,and told me she would deal with me tomorrow after they made a list of repairs that I was responsible for. I drove 25 min to get in and then to find out the person on the front desk (John is his name, so he says) is extremely rude to me right off the start for no reason and won’t rent me the root rooter because I didn’t have my driver license. I had a paper temporary format but not the plastic as I’m still waiting for it in the mail. I said I would put a full $1000 deposit for a used tool that probably costs $200 or less and he still wouldn’t do it! He was aggravated and kept on giving me grief! Read moreOur company will never rent from this shop again. We will drive out of our way to avoid the rude personnel at the counter. We went there more than once and where frowned and looked down upon buy both Personnel behind the counter. They were both rude and very demanding. I witnessed another person coming into the store, because I sort of wondered if it was just me , he was yelled at by the sales Personnel that was assisting me at the time. The associate yelled out don't put that there. The guy looked shocked!
