If you are looking to train Jiu Jitsu, I could not more highly recommend BTT North Texas.

Having been around sports my whole life I was looking for a new challenge both physically and mentally. After an internet search of martial arts schools near my home, I found BTT and decided to visit. Misty was very welcoming and responsive with my questions. She allowed me to watch a class and then take a free trial without any pressure. I had such a great time that I signed up right away.

Jiu Jitsu can be quite confusing for a newbie but the instructors and higher belts are very patient. Prof Machado has built an excellent reputation of respecting the traditions of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu while accommodating students of every age, gender, background and ability. BTT North Texas might be the most diverse group of athletes I have seen in a sport yet it feels like one family. Although challenging and competitive, I love being in an environment that is also safe and fun. It’s also humbling to train with international experts, giving me a new respect for a sport that previously I knew very little about.

After training for about 2 months now and could not be happier with the coaches, facility and community. Curiously addictive, I look forward to training as often as I can and hopefully progressing. Warning if you choose to walk in through the BTT doors, please rest assured that you will be rolling with some of the very best grapplers both on the mats and off. This whole place is a class act. Beginning with the owner Leonardo Machado who is a very well decorated BJJ black belt who consistently is competing at all the major national and international BJJ events and also in local tournaments throughout the year. He is a black belt in Brazilian JiuJitsu and a black belt in life. Very responsible and professional bjj professor who will place your safety and comfort first and at all times. Whether you are looking to work out, learn BJJ as a self defense method or begin or continue a competitive bjj lifestyle... this is the place. There are kids, women, moms, dads and several killers on the mats at all times for every level and interest. Professor Leonardo Machado is an incredibly talented coach, mentor, and world renowned competitor at the black belt level. He takes a personal interest in every one of his students' progression in an extremely positive environment. Not only is the atmosphere of the gym incredible but everyone at the gym goes out of their way to help you succeed. I began my BJJ journey in January of 2018 at 32 years old under Professor Machado and I can honestly say I will be training for the rest of my life.
