I went into VH-Richfield tonight to buy myself a ribeye after a long day's work. I was met at the door by Jesse, who pointed out the best ribeye in the case, explained why it was the best, and demonstrated the benefits of this particular steak versus the others. He asked how I planned on cooking it, and after listening to my technique, offered a simple modification.

After taking his recommendation, and using his technique, I am convinced this guy knows his stuff. I worked in specialized customer service management roles for many years and I would be thrilled to have a guy like Jesse on my team.

I purchased a brisket a couple of weekends ago. It was for a special occasion so I planned on spending a lot more for brisket than I usually do. I asked the butcher to trim the piece that I was going to purchase. He stated that they were all trimmed. After walking around the store time waiting for my brisket to be cut, the gentleman offered me a 4 pound cut. It had already been wrapped. When I begin to cook it, I realized that at least half of the 4 pounds was fat. Then when we actually ate the brisket I would there was one about a pound that didn't contain fat. My boyfriend and I were planned on walking to Firehouse Subs next door to this location and instead dropped by Von Hanson’s. Which we were so glad to have spent our money towards multiple home cooked meals instead of buying one meal for the two of us. The prices can be expensive for certain products but I was very surprised to learn how reasonable their pricing was, especially for the quality for every item. This was a great experience, always heard my friends raving about Von Hanson’s, now I understand why! Definitely better meat quality and pricing than most things at Lakewinds Food Co-op.
