I love Boscov's!! I've bought everything there from bathroom towel sets, bathroom rug sets, material shower curtains, queen size sheet sets, seasonal queen size comforter sets, curtains, dishes, I could go on and on.. But today I'm doing a review on the Shark Vacuum I bought. The price was cheaper than anywhere else I had looked and I also did a research for reviews. I read reviews before purchasing anything like this and I also write reviews for everything from restaurants, grocery stores to products. I found how much it has helped me reading what others have written I decided to contribute in the same way and I love it!! This vacuum was rated 4.4 which is good. The first thing that impressed me is if you're sweeping an area rug as soon as you lift the handle upright to turn it off the beater bar shuts off automatically, immediately. If you're sweeping an area rug and are about to switch over to a bare floor, it has a button on the top of the tank, if it is lit green it has the beater bar ready for rugs. If it doesn't have the green light, its ready for bare floors. All you have to do is push the button for either type floor. The tank releases easily to empty. When you have the tank removed to empty, you'll find the top opens the same way. That is where you'll find a stainless filter that will wash up nice!! On the bottom left side of the floor piece, you'll see a picture of a foot 👣, just place your foot on that area and pull the handle backwards to start sweeping. It has a very long electric cord that wraps along the right side. I decided to purchase the"Boscoverage" Extended Protection Program Agreement for $20.00. I've included a picture of both sides so you'll see what an advantage this is to buy for purchases like this!! I'm very happy having purchased this vacuum and with Boscov's, the treatment I'm given and the huge product selection they carry!! We've lost several upscale stores over the past few years but if Boscov's ever closed their doors, I would find the closest one from me to shop at or buy from their online store. To be honest, I think this store's still open because of everything I've commented on about them in this review....
Read moreToday, June 8, 2023, we were shopping at Boscov's, Johnstown, PA. We drive from Indiana, PA to shop there because it's always a good experience. Till today. We were in shoes, which is always enjoyable mostly because of the associate who I believe is Brad. Today there was a woman there whose name I didn't get, but her ID is 106623. As I was browsing, she was loudly telling a lady not to bother with a coupon because there's a sale, then she told a lady to get her credit card out now if she was using one. Both interactions were loud and unfriendly. My husband asked her to check on a pair of shoes in size 10. When she brought them out, she said to him, "Take the top one, it matches the display. At that point, because of her volume and tone, I walked out of shoes and into ladies.I was a manager of a PA Wine & Spirits and we were trained and trained our employees in Customer Service. So I get a little upset when employees are rude to customers. It turns out, the shoe she gave my husband was supposed to match the display shoe. The shoe she gave him was a 10 1/2, and for a right foot, the display was a 10 and also for the right foot. She did go back and get him the correct shoe. At the check out, my husband got his phone out to show her his military bar code that Boscovs gave him. He had to show his discharge papers to get that barcode. She told him she couldn't take that because "they're giving those out to everyone. " She said it has to be on your license. He offered to show his discharge papers on his phone and his American Legion info. He was completely embarrassed because she is so loud and others in line were hearing this conversation. She did finally scan his Boscov's barcode and made the sale, but with no apology or thank you to him. We have used that barcode from Boscov's hundreds of times in many Boscovs. I have been in that shoe department when it was swamped and only 2 clerks and was still treated with respect and courtesy. If this woman is so unhappy, you should put her somewhere else. Will probably think twice before shopping in Johnstown Boscovs again. Had I heard the military conversation, I would have told her where to put...
Read moreCustomer Service nightmare- my husband wanted to buy a gift certificate for a friend in town but was the ordered was rudely cancelled by Robin in customer service over the phone. Robin originally called my husband with some follow up questions about the order but when he called back (twice) she claimed the system was down and that she didn’t have the information. My husband confirmed the info- that his name is “Brooke” and that we placed the order from Seattle, WA. Robin was convinced that my husband was committing identity fraud because of his name and she would not let him place the order. After several attempts a to find a solution and convince Robin that he was actually Brooke in Seattle, Robin claimed “you sound like a man” and wouldn’t approve the order. Yes, Robin he sounds like a man because he is a man. Just because you haven’t met a male Brooke doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Overall, a very rude and...
