Kelly's Fruit Market — Local services in Richmond

I have been there twice this past week. I stopped to see what they had. I went in, they had Silver Queen corn. I was shocked. I asked where they got it this early. They said out of Florida. I bought a few ears to give it a try. Then, I saw farm fresh eggs. I decided to buy a dozen. Well, over next 2 days ate the corn and some eggs. Absolutely fantastic. The corn was almost as good as it is in August, best I’ve ever had early season. The eggs, wow! Amazing! You can see the deeper rich color when you crack them (more nutrients).

Well I went back yesterday and bought a lot more corn and these fresh eggs. And, by the way, the people in there are SO NICE...

This used to be the best local place to go to, but that’s no longer the case. My husband & I were there a few weeks ago & there weren’t any prices on any items outside. We had to keep asking prices. There was only one visible employee outside & he had no idea what stuff was or the prices. In fact, he even said “you’ll have to ask” which is what we were doing with him. Then I commented on their Facebook page to say they had a great selection but needed to post pics. They deleted my comment! I have no plans to go back to Kelly’s...

I may be wrong, but I thought that markets like this cost less than grocery stores. I said I wouldn't go back after paying 17 dollars last visit for a not so.big bag of squash, but I needed a tomato the other day that I forgot at grocery and did not want to go back. So I got 2 tomatoes and 1 lemon and it was $5.00. I'm just saying something because I want to know is this normal-correct?Anyway for 5 I get a lot more at Kroger...
