UM NEW OWNER ALERT!!! And wow is it OBVIOUS!

I recently had the absolute JOY of visiting Moxie Bar, and let me tell you, it was like stepping into a self care, all about me world! First up, Jackson worked his magic on my hair. Not only was he ridiculously talented, but he also became my personal hair guru, dropping knowledge bombs like “Did you know this product could help with XYZ” without making me feel like I was in a lecture. My hair has never looked better, and I walked out of there feeling like I was finally in the know about how to help elevate my hair and give it the TLC it deserves.

Then, Sofia took over with my makeup, and I swear, it was like meeting an old friend. We hit it off immediately (because also who doesn’t love a good chit-chat while getting some glam?), and she made me feel so at ease that I forgot I was even sitting in a chair getting glammed up.

Her skills were out of this world, she highlighted my features like a pro, but kept everything super natural. I have to admit, I was very surprised I loved it so much. I normally do my own makeup, but have to admit, girls got talent!! By the end, I felt like a million bucks you know, the kind of million bucks that doesn’t even need a receipt.

Honestly, walking out of Moxie Bar was like stepping into a whole new level of confidence and beauty. It was an unforgettable experience. Not only will I definitely be back, this new owner definitely knows what she’s doing. Everyone was so nice and super talented. And the place is gorgeous.

My kids and I started frequenting Moxie in Ridgewood after their recent change in ownership. The new owner, Sally, is literally THE kindest person you will ever meet. She is super approachable and happy to assist you with any questions you might have about the salon or services they offer. She will also book your appointment for you if you need. My first time there was for a blowout - Anthony did a wonderful job. I was worried about parking but there is a lot right behind the salon! There is even an entrance from the parking lot so no need to walk around to the front. I enjoyed my experience so much that I reached out to Sally to see if we could set up a fundraiser for my kids’ school! I will go out of my way to support a small business that gives back to the community. The week of the fundraiser, my daughter and her friends got tinsel/fairy hair done. The tinsel lasted a long time and looked really pretty. We have gotten it done elsewhere in the past, but we definitely preferred the way it looked this time around. My 5 year old son got a haircut with Anthony - Anthony was amazing with him. He kept my son engaged and his haircut was over before he knew it. When Anthony was styling my son’s hair, my son randomly said he wanted a mohawk (this was not discussed lol) so Anthony kindly styled it that way for him and my son was thrilled. PLEASE READ WHOLE THING❌❌‼️‼️Wow, where do I even start. my BLONDE specialist was Ayet, and I don’t believe that is her specialty. The picture with the blue background was after the first 3 hours of her doing a full highlight. It was not even close to what I asked for, it was the exact opposite. I was so upset because I have grown out my hair so there would be perfect highlights. I mentioned to her, please make these thin NOT chunky. I looked like a skunk. There was patches without color on the same strand, patches in circles, a whole mess. Then we called her to see if she could fix it. She said she would add tiny thin highlights everywhere to fix it. She mentioned there was nothing to worry about.

My hair was already so damaged so when I heard I had to do it all over again, I was terrified for my hair and scalp. We had to sit another 3.5 hours in the salon. She was very rough both times and my head was pounding. She was always handling multiple clients at the same time. She was busy with another client, and I had to rinse because I didn’t want my hair to burn off since it was so fragile already.

My own mom and receptionist rinsed my hair, didn’t know what they were doing and made a mess. All because she was blow drying someone else’s hair.
