The actual worst dress store in Bergen County. If I could give negative stars I would. I went to the store with my mom on a Wednesday at 12pm because that's when they open. We stood waiting for someone to unlock the front door for a good 10 minutes after 12 even after we called to say we were outside and the woman who answered responded with "I just got here and still need to open." Not sure what that means exactly. If a customer is waiting outside and calls to say that, shouldn't you rush to open the front door for them? Anyways, I found a dress and tried it on and it fit beautifully. She told us the dress was $600 and that she could give us a discount on it if we paid cash so I told her to hold the dress for me and I'd be back that very same day at 5:30pm with cash. I asked her if she needed my name or phone number just in case and she responded with "No I always remember my customers". I came back the same day at exactly 5:30pm with cash and she tells me she can't sell me the dress because she spoke to her sister (Shelly) who was in Turkey on vacation and Shelly told her that she already sold the dress to someone overseas. IF she took my info she could've called and saved me the trip. Not sure why the dress was still out on a rack but I believed her story and asked her if she could order another one for me. She said no because the dress was "one of a kind". No problem. I left. The next day my mom went back there to ask a few more questions and the lady told her that the dress was actually $1600 and not $600 and that she made a huge mistake with the price and that someone did actually buy it but they didn't need it till next month so she could RENT me the dress for the night. She promised my mom that her seamstress would alter the bottom for me without cutting the dress and then let it out to ship it to the customer who purchased it. If I bought a $1600 dress and the owner allowed someone to rent it for the night without my knowledge, I'd be furious. Anyways, the event I needed it for was only 2 weeks aways so I was desperate and said ok. I overnighted a pair of heels so I could go to the store and get it altered the next day. The lady calls my mom in the morning and says the seamstress isn't able to shorten the dress without cutting it and that she couldn't rent it to me. We moved on and I found another dress. THREE DAYS LATER she texted my mom saying she spoke to Shelly and that she could sell me the dress for $700 and order the other customer a new one. I thought the dress was one of a kind??? SO SO confused on how these women run their business and HOW people continue to support them. Sorry but I'll never EVER be back. These...

On April 29th, My wife came to this place for a 25th Anniversary dress. She fell in love with one she tried on. The owner, Shelly, knew my wife fell in love with it. Shelly said she would order the dress to be shipped to her shop, and it would arrive within 3 weeks. She was very quick to charge my credit card. I even explained to my wife that the whole process felt rushed right after we left there. We paid $890 for the dress, and then there was a 4% credit card fee and tax. Total was $925.51.
My wife texted Shelly on May 13th to ask if the dress had arrived. Shelly responded and said yes, it was there, and to get it fitted on Wednesday, May 15th. My wife was very excited to go and try on her new dress. Upon arrival at the shop and trying on the dress, my wife noticed it was THE SAME DRESS she had tried on April 29th. All along, the staff acted as if the dress was brand new and that it had arrived as they had stated. My wife was very disappointed and upset. She had a staff member, her daughter, call Shelly to let her know the dress was NOT NEW. Shelley and her staff insisted the dress was new until they admitted it wasn’t; they admitted it was the same dress she had tried on. They put it in a plastic bag and didn’t even bother to clean the stains and fix the ripped string to tie the back of the dress. These were there before my wife tried on the dress for the first time. They said the dress was “one of a kind.” The dress being one of a kind has nothing to do with the fact that they never gave my wife the option of what to do when they found out it was out of stock.
They tried to blame my wife for the stains, and then they admitted their hands might have been dirty when they touched it. They kept making excuses and saying she did not do refunds. She then stated that she would do a refund but would have to charge shipping fees, restocking fees, etc, which is 213.51 in fees. How are you charging these fees when THE DRESS NEVER LEFT YOUR SHOP, and we did not receive a new dress, which is what we paid for? She admitted that they told her it was not in stock when she called to order the dress. She never contacted my wife to inform her or give her other options. Instead, she pretended as if the dress was shipped new. We feel SCAMMED; there is no other way to put it. Avoid this place.

Your response below is also a lie. There is no way that dress was brand new and there is no way my wife would cause "wear and tear" to a dress for trying it on for a few minutes. You are constantly lying and you just...
Read moreI was getting remarried and had quite a hard time finding a dress-I didn't have a large budget so I tried Walmart, Etsy, Rent-the-Runway and finally David's Bridal's clearance section. I got a dress from David's Bridal but it was too big-I took it to 2 seamstresses and neither could alter it because of the way the dress was designed. It was 4 weeks from my small, simple ceremony and I was going to end up wearing a dress I wore to another wedding and my son's confirmation. In desperation I started calling actual bridal boutiques. One said they knew they wouldn't have anything that would fit but I could come in the following week. The other said they only carried white dresses, and they recommended I try Shelly Glam. Shelly worked magic with her schedule and she offered me an appointment the same day. At first I looked at the dresses on my own-they were all beautiful. Shelly chatted with me and asked a few questions about what I needed a dress for and what wanted it to look like-length, color, anything specific I was looking for. Within minutes she picked out an absolutely gorgeous dress and encouraged me to try it on. I did-and I knew this was my dress. It was exquisite. Shelly explained how the dress was designed, showed me how the layers of material built up the dress, and how it caught the light. She even used the flashlight on her phone as a spotlight and I watched it sparkle and glimmer and shine. Then she pinned it so I could see how it would look when it was altered to fit me. In the height of prom and wedding season Shelly took time to help me find a dress and altered it so quickly. I was so surprised and so happy. Shelly even made a shawl for me out of the extra material from the hem. While I was at her store I asked her opinion about the shoes, jewelry and mask I had bought and she was so helpful. Each time I went to the boutique she chatted with me while she worked and asked questions so she could help me get exactly what I needed. I'm sorry I didn't go to her boutique from the beginning. I highly recommend her-I wish I could give her a higher rating than 5 stars-she deserves it. Shelly is unbelievably talented and an excellent seamstress who knows trends, classics, and how to make you look and feel beautiful in a dress that was...
