first and foremost... can i just describe our family's dynamic??? our pack leader (children's mother and life partner of the writer of this review) of the pack is a 3rd generation Japan born, with Korean heritage/roots... I am a first generation born in the USA, who weighs in at 275 lbs... (i live for bacon) (father) with Korean and often times Dominican flair and 'crassness'... we have 2 human offspring, a 16 yo female, and a 18 yo male... last but not least a 3 yo yellow labrador retriever named lil E.
walked into the store with my daughter... felt a little bit lost... one must order in the back left corner of the store... but we met one of the partners working back there... her name is Nvair... i know... what will they think of next... since it's someone's proper name... i will lay off... we were ordering... practically all i said was dealer's choice, and Nvair made a few decisions on my behalf... MEANWHILE... i got wind of their agua frescas... i totally am a 'dealer's choice sort of guy, when it comes to new and 'fancy' food choices... (which in this case, it is new to me, but my NO MEANS... is it fancy... or fine dining). i was totally in love with their agua frescas... no lie... something like 7 ish machines, full of ur fun of the mill lemonade (lightly sweetened) to honey pineapple to pomegranate, coconut basil, seriously stuff of legend!!! i could just have hung there for an hour getting full on their agua frescas...
So how does this all go down??? My daughter is one of these save the world save the earth types, who happens to be lactose intolerant... Who totally was in love with their vegetarian concept... she ordered the "bahn mi" with a veggie based protein substitute... LITERALLY WE GOT HOME, AND THE RAVENOUS GANG INHALED IT!!! didn't even leave dad (me) a chance to taste it... even the ride home... was a bit dicey... at hello, she gave their choco churro a 9.5 out of 10... out of this world!!! my daughter is 16, and she doesn't go 9.5 for much anything...
BTW, the final ruling on the rio flat that i had was... my daughter while transporting it got messy, and just let all of it flop around in the box... these meals are made with love and respect and should be treated as such... PLEASE NO UNNECESSARY JOSTLING AND PHYSICALITY... IT IS FOOD! RESPECT FOR ALL FOOD!!! it's in need of some more punch... Nvair promised or mentioned (once again veggie based) chorizo is a must try... (i felt like this is a good ploy similar to that of leaving a scarf or hat at a new special someone's house to return to see each other again)
my son is just a wanna be buff sort of pubescent... he practically ate all of my rio... he preferred the banh mi cuz of the chicken substitute... go figure...
my wife just picked and nibbled... that's her show of "i tasted it all", but i'm not really hungry... she enjoyed what she tasted...
LESSONS LEARNED: ALWAYS CHORIZO ALWAYS TRAVEL AND STORE THESE THINGS HORIZONTALLY COME HUNGRY AND THIRSTY WE WILL BE BACK!!! VERY LIKELY TO BE A REGULAR ADDITION TO OUR FOOD LINEUP... OUR DAY HAS BEEN MADE kind of SPECIAL... THANKS TO worldFlats, Nvair,...
Read moreI ordered the banh mi bowl from here for delivery to work last week. The food was probably the worst food I’ve ever had. I couldn’t finish even a quarter of it, and I hate wasting food. The rice was tasteless, cold and hard like it had been in the refrigerator (food safety issue!), the plant based chicken had no flavor and reminded me of plain boiled animal chicken (I’m vegan) so that really put me off. The whole meal had literally no flavor and was just that nasty rice mixture, lettuce, and the weird plant based chicken. Very expensive for the ingredients and even more so considering that it was basically inedible. To top it off, I later saw on their instagram that they consider plant based to be vegetarian, not vegan, which is incorrect according to every actual certification of the words plant based, internationally, so that’s extremely problematic and would’ve made me sick. So if you have dietary restrictions to milk and eggs please be...
Read moreHello My Dear Readers,
Today I had lunch at worldFLATS. This was my first time dining at this establishment. I let the person taking our order know that it was my first time. I am happy to share that I was so pleased with the level of service I received. Not only did I receive an overview of the food and menu…but the young man attending to us offered us 2 free agave drinks which were delicious.
We ordered the signature Masal FLAT and a Flat Bowl.
The meal was healthy (usually means tastes like cardboard) but no…the food was delicious and to my surprise so filling. The two of us could not finish our meal. And lunch for two was under $28 #Deal
I highly recommend this place and not just for the vegetarian/vegans out there but to one and all. (*Note: I’m not...
