10/2 had the misfortune of visiting your store in Derby. Somehow I must have upset the employee working in the tool section. I still don’t know what I had done but her attitude was totally uncalled for. When asked if she had a manager that I could talk to about a possible rain check on an item in the sale flyer that was to be given free with the purchase of a larger item. I could see this employee was very upset! The employee took off to go find the manager, I thought.. only to come back and very rudely informed me that the manager said they have the right to change the sales flyer and since they were out of the free item there would be no rain checks given! I would think that the manager should have come talked to me since I was the one that had requested it! I then left the store and from my car I called the Park city location. They were out also. I proceeded to call The Andover location. I received the store manager and he immediately took care of the issue!! He went above and beyond in my opinion, and I Would Never request that type of service! But this manager did it on his own and it still blows me away!! He turned a bad incident into a positive one!! Little did he know that it was my birthday also! I will no longer shop in Derby, even though it is closer for me. I will go the extra few miles to support Andover Atwood’s and I will tell all I know to check out the friendly atmosphere in Andover!! Derby you sure could learn from Andover, because this was not my 1st incident with rudeness but it...
Read moreI read the reviews written thus far and all of them seem true. I was here about February 10, 2018 in the evening. The employees up front were a little tired but greeted me in a friendly fashion and directed me to where I wanted to go. It seemed all the employees were intent on doing their respective jobs. The guy in the gun department had little interest in me if I wasn't going to buy one, just watchful for stealing. That's okay. What I detected among the employees was a sense of independence most farmers and ranchers have, good self identities that don't need much positive affirmation from other people. This could be interpreted as lack of caring. In a way that's true because they want to focus on what affects them directly and their jobs. Yes, it is a place where you get your own stuff. They expect you to be independently self sufficient as they are; yet, they are willing to help you if you ask. If you have an attitude then they kinda stiffen up toward you, but if you're relaxed and casual so are they. Atwood's selection of stuff and prices are competitive, and they do have some stuff other stores don't have. For example, those cheap plastic reacher-grabber things are the best I've found. They are more durable and reliable than other vendors. Someone paid attention and made a good decision in buying these...
Read moreEvery single time we go to Atwoods we enjoy the same experience. The parking lot is close to the building so I don't have to walk far and with me being disabled this means a lot. The employees are always kind, considerate and very happy to help with any questions we might have!!! They just recently renovated the store and it's even nicer than it was before. It's always been very clean- especially for a farm hand style store- and I have no qualms using the bathrooms there or letting my son and grandchildren utilize them. They are always clean and the remodeled restrooms are super nice and no longer just 1 stall!!! If you haven't checked them out... You should!!! We always buy our dog food, chicken feed and animal health products here up to and including the 9 in 1 vaccines for our canine and feline family members!!! We also buy chicken worms only here for the hens that we purchased from there a few years ago. All of the chicks were very healthy and happy! Their staff is also very knowledgeable and beyond happy to help educate anyone wanting to learn about their products. I have no doubts that every trip there will be a...
