Iāve lived in Derby for 5 years and never have came here. I said letās support the theater in town and go see a movie as we always go to AMC because we like reclining chairs. They made us all shake our blankets and I heard the guy say they check bags and only thing they donāt check is car seats. Was literally talking about how he was gonna shake us down. I have never in my life been to theater that does that. I am not gonna lie I did have my Cup with me that has water in it. I drink a ton of water and Iām just not going to spend 3.25 for a water as water should be free. We bought popcorn, candy, and drinks. AMC has security guards for the movies and they do not shake down their customers. Even if I did not have my water with me I still wouldnāt want my bags and blankets shook down. I will never come back here. I will continue to spend $18 per ticket then to go to this theater. There are 4 of us in our family that could have been customers that might have come back but after this experience no thank you. Iāve been to several theaters around the country and no theater has ever done that but keep doing that to your customers and I promise people will continue to not come. There were about 10 cars in the parking lot to begin with. This is a movie theater that charges $8 for an adult ticket because you guys canāt charge more because itās a crappy theater. You shouldāve been happy you even had someone come buy a movie ticket to begin with. Not to mention the bathroom was dirty af and they had one guy working the counter while 4 of them leaned up against the wall on blanket patrol. He should have had his butt in the bathroom scrubbing instead of taking break leaning...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was planning on giving 5 stars, however after we had left and my husband had to go back into the movie theater (our 5 year old son forgot his stuffed animal ) he heard a gentleman named Joe saying how he hates kids. I have 4 kids with me 5 and under and the four year old accidentally dropped her popcorn. We tried to pick it up but the lights went out and she nor I could see to picked it up. We waited until after the movie for the lights to come on and they never did. So we left. However Joe decided saying he hates kids (because my 4 year old dropped her popcorn and he was cleaning it up). I'm not sure if we will be going back. I spoke to who I was told was the manager and I believe is the owner as well stated he would speak to him (he heard him say this) and then went on to defend and explain that kids trashed a few rows on July 4 and that is why. However the difference was he said they was teenagers and my girl was 4. I told him that he should leave a broom and dustpan in the movie rooms for us parents that don't like to leave a mess. I apologized for my child's mess but after the comment Joe made, I don't think we will return. It's pretty sad since everything was amazing and loved it until one person made a comment about MY child and her small mess. The mess was small as she only had the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOf all the parties I have hosted, this has got to be on the bottom for sure. First, it started off with the staff not knowing about my party from the time I showed up so they had to call or communicate with the one in charge about it. Then after the movie started, the theater still had the lights on so I went to the concession stand to remind them of it. Next, the $100 cleaning fee for outside food after not ever even mentioning in earlier discussions that food wasnt allowed. Maybe this should be discussed in the future for customers who want to book a party. Lastly, the lights were not turned on after the movie was over and a guest from my party took the initiative to go and ask for someone to turn the lights back on for us so we could sing happy birthday. It was just a complete let down of an experience that is already so stressful on us parents. The lack of communication was evident. I did feel the manager (the woman who wore all black) really did try to make the situation a little better for us but sadly the whole experience was just shot...
