937 Barbershop — Local services in Riverside

Im gonna give a fair and honest review. I’m giving this place a 3 star… I believe they probably deserve higher because 1 barber doesn’t reflect all of them I’m just basing this on my experience. ALL the barbers I spoke to while chit chatting were super nice, even the one we had, the atmosphere was great, and the vibes were good, it was clean, smelt great in there, and most of the haircuts going out of there were good, EXCEPT OURS. My son got one of the worst cuts he’s ever had, and maybe the guy cutting his hair just didn’t know how to cut his hair. I showed him pictures, tried to explain to the best of my ability what it was we wanted. My son gets a thicker Mohawk, its like a normal faded hair cut in the front then the back is a wider Mohawk that comes to a point in the back I will post a pic below of what he wanted. He acted confident he could give us a good result. I literally was texting my friends the entire time after seeing the first side of my sons hair I KNEW it was about to get messed up but I kept telling myself to trust the process(but honestly I’ve took him to enough barbers that I know how it should look as it’s being done… I also have 2 years of hair cutting experience… I’m just not great at it and that’s okay least I’m honest) my friends said to see it through it’d be okay but I knew it wouldn’t. When he got to the top of my sons head he asked how I wanted that and scared it would be even worse I said oh I kind of like it like that can you just trim it a tad, the FIRST cut on the top I was regretting my decision to say that! When he was finished he asked if I liked it and I’m not the confrontational type and said yeah can you style it hoping it would look okay to walk out with… he put oil it in almost like a beard oil… it looked so greasy and gross BUT I paid and left and literally cried in the car! I had to take him somewhere else to get fixed so I spent double today trying to get my sons hair done but I went somewhere else and they fixed him up and he looks like the pictures I showed the guy here. Ive been on the hunt for my son to get established at a barbershop. We have been a few places and just didn’t feel the vibe we were looking for. From the minute we walked into 937 barbershop, I knew this was going to be the right one. We were greeted right away and made feel like we’re regulars even though it was our first time. The attention they paid even to my younger daughter showed how much they cared about the people walking through the door. Dylan was top notch. He took the time to get to know my son and what he was really looking for. My son isn’t the best explaining the actual hair cut he really wants but Dylan made sure to explain what he interpreted my son wanted and walked him through what he was doing. This was the first time leaving a barbershop that my son was excited about the haircut he got. Do yourself a favor and go to 937 barbershop! You will never look back to where you had been...

Dylan is the barber I go to for my haircuts, and I couldn’t be happier with his haircuts and beard trims every time I book with him. You will never be disappointed—he always makes the environment feel comfortable. Honestly, you probably couldn’t go wrong with any of the barbers there, but definitely give this shop a try if you’re tired of the traditional Great Clips-type haircut places. No offense to them, but they don’t specialize in proper styles like fades, tapers, and other detailed haircuts.
