I also had to go back and edit an old review from two years ago to give an update on the current situation. (Original review is in brackets).
More of the same, late openings during the weekend continues—nine people this morning were left waiting 20 minutes in the parking lot after the posted 7am opening time—one of those people takes the bus and just had to stand in the cold. Others start leaving after 15 minutes.
During the week, the morning crew just sleeps behind the desk while paper towels are nowhere to be found, not even in the bathrooms! (Especially during cold and flu season).
The overall cleanliness has slipped to an all-time low (see photos). A breeding ground for dust bunnies, gravel, dirt, salt, trash—it’s almost impressive if it wasn’t so infuriating. The men’s locker room is a hellscape—floors and stall walls have a nice film covering everything.
Equipment remains broken, one of the only four smith machines has been down for almost a month now, the ones that do work need to have the bearings replaced or at the very least, greased, the catching/dragging of the bar is not only stifling the workout, but poses a risk of injury. The inclined leg press also suffers from this dragging. Rubber handles on the row machine just slip off.
Overall, very dismal place and it seems to be getting worse, I eagerly await the “owner”/person manning the google responses to tell me that they’re sorry to hear about my experience, appreciate my feedback, and to contact the manager.
I left contact info with the dude this morning. Your move planet fitness, impress me. Convince me that I “belong”.
[[The cycle of showing up in the morning with the doors locked, no staff in sight continues. No signage, half of the lights on, and both fans running—merely a tease. Just sat in the lot with a handful of the regular A.M. patrons for a half hour before leaving. Legend has it that there are still people out front waiting for the staff to open the doors during business hours. (Two...
Read moreWell my inquiry with the corporate office about you they said you would be responding. You have not. So Friday, June 7th after 5 pm all bets are off. I will be consulting with an attorney on the following monday for my case, then a class action suit for everyone else. The company has been sued and lost. A recent podcast was done about deceptive practices. I will be filing a report with the Attorney General also and the Health Department. Glad the city denied your permit to change your sign Planet Fitness any future things attempted I will be at the meetings with citizens giving our disapproval. I have over 7 thousand members of Riverside in my Facebook group. We will use social media to out you. I hope the business then is sued and loses so bad it closes.... I don't bluff, retired now plenty of time..... I have friends in the news business that I will be contacting for a story..... you took advantage of my wife not knowing, that is unacceptable... funny how no one answers or no one has called me so many shady things going on there, well soon they will be in the news since they think I am bluffing........ big mistake........ AG Complaint will be this week. Next week two appointments with Attorneys....... wow your going to lose money....it will be interesting when I file in court and issue a subpoena for the 3 staff members one being the manager to court to explain that situation. I am sure they will not like sitting on the stand being asked questions! Or course they could try to not appear but that is contempt of court, so I will be asking the judge to issue a warrant for contempt. Since I do not know their names we will be issuing a subpoena for any employee that worked on that day.... so all will have to go...... then we can see if the other know about...
Read moreI like coming to this location because it’s conveniently located, but this location seems to have a hard time with reopening on the weekends and suffers from issues with upkeep. Occasionally, it’s a maintenance issue (power outage, water main, etc), but more often than not, it’s an employee who hasn’t come in to open the place up. I get that good help is hard to find, but I’ve been coming to this location for 6 years and it’s a pretty regular occurrence. As I pull into the lot, I’ll see a few people lingering outside and think to myself: “Here we go again”, wait in the lot for a half hour, turn around and go home.
It’s striking to me. PF is a punctual, organized, well-oiled machine when it comes to collecting my membership fees and annual fees, but when it comes to basic/essential operations, it’s amateur-hour.
Some maintenance of equipment needs to be addressed as well…
[[[And before the representative of this location/business page says:
“Hi! Thank you so much for your feedback! Please speak to the manager of the club with these issues……”
Dude, we’re talking about standard, day-to-day operations of a fitness club. If you need the membership to go over the bare minimum with the management, put me on the payroll or give me a free membership.]]]
…All but one of the smith machines (the one closest to the inclined leg press) need WD-40’d. They snag while going through the movement. Very unsafe. Especially if someone wants to go a bit heavier.
Both the preacher curl machine and the tricep/leg lift machine (the one in the stretch area) are unstable and rock when in use. Also, very dangerous.
As a black card member I have a lot of mixed feelings. Getting tired of it. Pretty...
