Paper Source — Local services in Rochester Hills

Michigan has 2 Paper Source locations, this was my first visit to the one at The Village of Rochester Hills, an upscale outdoor mall. There's a lot to look at & I spent over an hour inside! It's a beautiful, wide open, clean, and well organized store, with a variety of specialty paper, an invitation station and a colorful paper bar. Large selection of artisan cards, paper crafting & gift wrapping supplies, trendy novelties (gifts for men too!), including a large selection of journals and calendars. Employees teach afternoon Workshops on Hand Lettering, Card Making, & Upcylced Decor etc. I wasn't greeted when I walked in, but one employee was extremely helpful when I had questions. He was friendly, gave me an overview of the store, and added me to the mailing list at the register. 2 women were eating at the paper bar table so I did not check out that area as thoroughly as I wanted to 😕 I purchased a few items that the big box crafting stores don't carry, and I'll definitely return....

A few months ago I stopped in to look for a particular style of notebook. I looked a bit rough because of the work that I do. The cashier kept staring at my shoes. I cought her doing it a few different times. A few minutes later, and I don't know if it was the owner or another employee, looked at me and said, "Isn't it fun just to look around?" Implying that I couldn't afford anything in there. Whether she meant it the way I interpreted it or not doesn't matter. It was so rude. I felt so awkward. I would never step foot in this place again. Walked right into paper heaven! First time to this locale and it was AWESOME. Every type of paper products you could imagine - journals, cards, stickers, bags, flowers, a seriously cool stationary section and more! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and Aaron was really helpful and friendly! Keep playing Dermot Kennedy on the sound system, loved it!
