Updated review:
Sad to say, but now I fully understand what all the bad reviews about this location are referring to.
We came in with the intention of purchasing diamond studs for my husband, and I was initially excited to see Nikki, whom I had previously raved about for her kindness. Hoping to give her the sale, I greeted her with a friendly âHi friend!â as she sat behind the desk. To my shock, she didnât respondâshe only glanced at me coldly over her glasses. I later realized she was on a call, but even so, a simple smile or warm acknowledgment would have been appreciated. Instead, she alternated between icy glares and avoiding eye contact altogether. It was one of the coldest receptions Iâve ever experienced in customer service.
Things didnât get better from there. The associate assisting us with the studs gave off the same unhelpful energy. When I asked for her opinion on which size would look best on my husband, her response was an apathetic, âI donât know. I mean, itâs up to you.â I clarified that I was looking for her opinion, but she made no effort to engage or offer any real help. It felt as though she wasnât interested in assisting us at all.
Iâm not sure whatâs going on at this location, but this experience was both disappointing and uncomfortable. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was astonishing. We left without making a purchase and, frankly, will never waste our time or money at the Rockingham Kay Jewelers again.
If youâre looking for a warm, helpful, and professional shopping experience, I strongly recommend driving a little farther to the Florence, SC location, where Jacob and his team will remind you what great customer service...
Read moreI have family in need. I took a necklace that was a present to myself and tried to return it. I explained that a family member of mine just lost their home and in need of a room for a few days. The clerk tells me on the phone " well it's been less than a month come on in". When I get there, two ppl waiting on one person and so I waited patiently. Never was I acknowledged until BOTH were done. Now the female clerk took my Kay's bag looked at what I purchased and said "do you have the receipt?" I didn't. I looked and looked. Then I called a different store and was informed by the clerk they could pull up the receipt because of the lifetime warranty. So I called Rockingham store. I talked to a different lady and she said "we sure can look it up" then she hesitated and gave the to the first lady I talked to and she stuttered a different store policy than ALL THE KAY JEWELERS. SHE SAID"IN THIS STORE YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT." I pray my treatment was not because of the color of my skin. Because when I was on my out to find the receipt the gentleman clerk asked did I pay with a card and I said yes. His look that he gave the female showed confusion. In these times we should treat all equally. I will be riding to the Aberdeen store today because they are more than happy to help my family. And pull a...
Read moreI had a credit card with Kayâs and itâs paid off. I went a year without using it, and they closed it. I stopped buy and was looking for 2 things. The first thing was a certain citizen watch. I was told if they it wasnât on their site, itâs not available. Well the Citizen Promaster Altichron they couldnât find on their site. I would have ordered it because nobody has it. The sales person said they would follow up. Never did. Letâs not talk about the ring I was looking at. They kept saying these certain diamonds were certified. I thought she was saying used. No. A number is etched in the diamond. Thatâs been out. They didnât create it. I was wonting to pick a ring and a diamond, and have it set. They have some company cone here and there to do that. So I found A store very close by to order me the watch, and sold me the ring. I wanted 1.25. One and a quarter karats. They showed me 3/4 and didnât have nothing hardly. Personally I look at Kays as a chain of assembly line of cheap non quality Jewelry. They have great lighting for a reason. Donât trust the...
