UPDATE: After reaching out to The Dollar Tree on Facebook, Corporate Dollar Tree has apologized and is taking care of this. They responded to my concern in minutes.
CHECK YOUR NUMBER OF ITEMS BEFORE PURCHASE/PAYMENT! My grandmother frequents the dollar tree on Murrell in Rockledge, Florida and the other day she went in to do some shopping. Upon checking out, she reviewed her receipt and noticed that she was charged for some extra cards. She brought this to the attention of the cashier who informed her that the store policy was that they could not take cash out of the register and return it to her, even though it was their mistake. My grandmother was told that she could go pick out a few more items to make up for the cost she was accidentally charged. My grandmother was very upset about this, as she had budgeted for the shopping trip and she did not need any other items. The cashier got the manager who told my grandmother the same information- that there was nothing he could do because even though it was the store’s mistake, they cannot give the cash back from the drawer. Read moreThank you, Mary for saving me money on balloons today! Thanks to you, I probably won't be shopping at that dollar tree anymore! When a fellow employee tells you a customer wants balloons inflated and you say oh you've got to be kidding and I say no he's not and then you continue your stocking and talking to another customer about how bad balloons are for the environment, you showed your feelings about customer service. And then finally you said I'll be there in a few moments, but you kept on stocking. I'm not sure but I thought the customers are what keep dollar tree so successful. Thanks to you Mary, You've lost this customer! PS I only live a few blocks away And I shopped there a lot, but I won't be doing that anymore Because I know that I'm not...
Read moreI really like Dollar Tree stores. Unlike Dollar General, everything really is one dollar. Some stuff can be junk, but other items can be great buys. If you need helium balloons for a party or function, $1. Kitchen small wares, $1. I've found the coolest stuff like a sriracha flavored salt. I'm a real estate agent and to help draw attention to my open house signs, I bought a bunch of pinwheels for a buck each. They're great! If there's ever a downside it's that if you find something today, it may be out of stock tomorrow. Perhaps never to be seen again. And the aisles can have stock waiting to be put away. Nevertheless I really do...
