Fast Track Hobbies — Local services in Rocklin

So let me start off by saying this, these two recent one star reviews are complete B.S. I Have been coming to Fast track for Years Since they were Behind sunrise, then Auburn Blvd , Then 5 star Blvd. and now near Loomis, These Guys are in my opinion awesome. I don't really do cars , I fly model planes, However I have gotten some RC cars from here for my son and even built a drift car for my wife , I've rented Slot cars for my son to play with when dad and son are out having a Dude day, So this review is coming from experience not just someone who got good service one time so here it goes

The owner: Dwight simply one of the nicest guys I have met in the hobby, I have on 2 separate occasions come into the shop and built YES, BUILT model airplanes, one I purchased from the shop one I did not. super kind to let me sit at the table and just build and if I needed parts, I'm at a hobby shop best place to build, I would Gladley have paid a fee to use the space but nope he was kind enough to just let me build for free, no other shop has done that.

Employee: Dell. Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of this hobby. from crawlers to aircraft, I have flown with Dell, and I hate to admit it but he's a better pilot than I am, as well as a model flight instructor at AMOS RC field.

Employee: Tony - Incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to RC cars, I was going to get my son a specific RC car and was advised against it for the simple fact that parts availability for that little truck was hard or non existent to get at the time. I heeded his advice.

Yesterday, I had an experience at the store that made me give them 3 stars. The store has a good selection of products and is well-organized, but I was disappointed with the knowledge of the technicians at the repair desk. There were two technicians, and one seemed to know more than the other.

I brought a set of Nimh 3000MAH power cells and an Ez-Peak plus fast charger to be tested. The batteries and the Charger weren't charging, and they didn't take time to troubleshoot the issues. One technician told me to buy a new battery and charger, which would cost +$100. The other technician suggested calling Traxxas customer support if I don't want to purchase maybe they would help. I decided to leave the store and call Traxxas.

When I called Traxxas, they helped me quickly and efficiently. They told me that the batteries were completely drained out and needed a slow charger first. They also said that the batteries don't go bad that easily. The Ez-Peak charger is now working, and one of my Nimh batteries is fully charged.

In conclusion, I don't trust the technicians at the store. They were quick to ask me to spend money on new products instead of trying to help me troubleshoot. I would call Traxxas customer support before seeking help from the...

Been a loyal customer since open off lonetree and talked to the owner many of times very nice guy bought my Xmas and tone of stuff from him also been to the new location numerous times spending a ton I came in looking for a small umx something under 120 the guy that helped me he said he was in service was cool at first then I asked to see the models I was interested in he gave me a attitude half way and he dropped a box and I asked for a different batch he got all grumpy and mad saying what for like I’m a customer he acted like it came out his own pocket seriously need to hire better staff for airplanes he was very negative saying he only flys drone like why are you helping me I spoke to a nice gentleman on the phone before hand about the planes and he was so knowledgeable the guy in the rc department with the hat and blonde beard needs better training also I even asked if he could help in the plane section he said yea and I was dissatisfied knowing how much knowledge I have in planes he was no help but thank you owner for the new plane I’m happy to add to my collection but not sure if I wanna drive my 50min when I could go to rc country that’s known...
