Pottery World Cafe — Restaurant in Rocklin

Today, we arrived at least one hour before their closing time. When we got in line for the hostess, we noticed the two customers in front of us were waiting so we asked them if they had already been greeted or approached by a host. They had not, and mentioned they’d been waiting several minutes already. We waited another 5-10 and watched several employees going back and forth behind the host counter and not one looked over at the line growing.

Finally I noticed someone helping another customer with a take out order, and asked if a host was available. She said that she was and was busy with a customer but would be helping the next customer waiting in line soon.

Their wait was going to be 45 minutes for two people.

This is not the first time I’ve seen this lack of service for the host function at this restaurant.

The management should work on supporting their employees by balancing the host coverage. Why is the one host also responsible for closing the check on a take out order? Why are there not more than one host when the restaurant is clearly so busy they have a 45 min wait at 2p Friday?

Food was great, yes. The man we had as our server was also wonderful. Reason I put 3 was because of the extremely horribly rude lady that is older with purple short hair (at the front when you walk in). PLEASE TRAIN HER TO HAVE SOME BASIC HUMAN RESPECT. It wasn't only me but my friends that were treated rudely. We just came in and asked one question about the dessert, she answered my question like I was one of the stupidest people she's seen and even got an eye roll while she was walking away. She ignored my friend entirely when she asked her a question. Again we simply walked in and got this treatment from this lady. She was extremely rude and condescending to us. If she's there I'd rather not come again. Not worth being treated like that. Upset that we had to run into her again after our great waiter and food and experience that horrible personality again. Lady I hope you see this and someone talks to you about this because how you treat others is absolutely not okay. There is NO REASON you should be acting like that in public. I love the fact that they welcome my dogs to join me at their patio which is very comfortable, clean and spacious. Caleb, the server, is a true gem. He's respectful, attentive, prompt, helpful and hardworking. He brought a water bowl for my dogs right away when we sat down. He didn't let himself just standing there idly while there's no customers, either, as I saw him making sure the other table legs were even and adjusting them. That was him paying attention to detail. Previously, I came here with my mom. She loved the food and she enjoyed shopping here. We met Justin, one of the partners, who had demonstrated an exceptional hospitality and he took great care of us. We really appreciated him. Needless to say that the place is classy and upscale. My dogs and I feel relaxed every time we dine here. We love the decorations and the items display for sale in the gardens, too.
