I have loved the Gulf of Mexico since I was three years old and felt the wet sand and salty waves tickling my feet on Dauphin Island.
No matter where I Roam, I always come back to the GOM here in Texas and this has been so since 1981.
Last night after dinning in Latitudes Restaurant, a walk was calling me to the jetty. Si, down the road I went, parked and got out to admire the waves, softly blowing trade winds, salty oxygen in my lungs and a full moon overhead.
Only disappointment was the trash scattered in amongst the rocks, hence a four star instead...

Whoever designed this as a “fishing pier” must be a believer in all fish should live free and never be caught. On the night I was there, no surprise but there was nobody FISHING. With the closing of Copano pier, this area has no legimate fishing piers. SAD. If you are a fisherman, don’t waste your time here unless you bring a boat...
