PIK-NIK Deli + Wine Bar — Restaurant in Rockport

Keep in mind your in a Rockport historic building, space is limited. But let's talk about the food! WOW! ITS SO AMAZING!!!! I never leave hungry or wanting more. Portion sizes are perfect! The food is seasoned and is amazing every single time I visit! I don't know the owners or staff, so there is so favoritism, its just amazing! They keep everything fresh and delicious! Service; again I cannot complain, food is made to order so you may wait a little but its worth the wait, don't go with someone you don't want to sit and chat with. I just had a 2 hr lunch date with my gal, and it felt like 30 min because the conversation and drinks were flowing! The cucumber lemon water is always so refreshing and hits the spot! The food was great the last few times I've been, but we were treated very rudely today by a staff member when I tried to bring my mom and her service dog to lunch here. We walked in, and a waitress said they don't allow pets. Understandable, but I was here a couple weeks ago and a guest had their two dogs sitting in a chair at their table. After confirming that my mom's dog was indeed a service animal trained to assist with her disability, the waitress said "I guess" and acted like she didn't believe us. My mother is a U.S. Navy veteran and did not deserve to be treated so rudely. She tried to explain to the waitress why her response was inappropriate, and we left. We will not be supporting this business if they can not be consistent with their treatment towards pets or service animals in the establishment. Edit from a couple of weeks ago. Pictured, the Roasted Corn & Poblano Crab Bisque that is absolutely delicious. The blue chips are a nice touch, a little more crab would be a better touch. The Shrimp & Crab Salad was good as well. I will be back soon to try something else. Again, a great and much needed addition to Rockport.
