Belk — Local services in Rocky Mount

Customer service is AWFUL. I ordered a comforter from their location and waited about three weeks before I followed up with them. Nobody could find my order, so I had to continue to call back, day after day. Finally, they told me they never received my order. They did not offer to help, so instead I had to ask for their email so I could send them proof I purchased and PAID for it already. I played phone tag several times before I got a rude woman on the phone telling me, "there was nothing they could do." I have worked in customer service for over a decade and would NEVER treat a customer the way I was treated. After talking to several different employees, I was finally able to get someone to look further into my issue. It had turned out that THEY lost my comforter. The sales and deals were fantastic but the sales associate was not helpful or pleasant. I was trying hard to find a pair of pants for my daughter to wear to work. The associate did not make even the slightest effort to help me after I had asked her a couple of times where I could find what I was looking for and about specific brands. A customer in the store saw me frantically walking from one section to the next, and I must have looked frazzled or lost, but she asked me what I was trying to find. I explained it to her and she showed me the section I would most likely find what I was looking for and even helped me look for a while. A kind stranger made my day much better and I eventually found the pair of pants my daughter needed for work. The only reason I think this store deserves a one star is because at least the staff was nice. We arrived before the doors open and once we went in, you would have thought we arrived at closing time. It was a total mess. Clothes were piled up everywhere and it was hard to find anything. I finally found a pair of black pants that was hanging in a rack, but when I went to the dressing room to try them on, the floor was so filthy and dusty, the cuffs were totally covered with dust when they touched the floor. I was so appalled that I didn’t even finish trying them on. The floors all over the store were filthy also with trash every where.
