We have stayed at numerous Days Inn locations, and this was the worst. In fact, Wyndham should be ashamed to have this property with their name on it. As Wyndham rewards members, we expect better.||||We don't ask for much...Cleanliness, and a reasonable attempt to give us a downstairs room, when one is available. There were MANY downstairs rooms that were empty for the night, but we were put upstairs, anyway.||||But let's start from the beginning...||||First, upon check in, we were told we had room 216, and that it was on the 1st floor. We thought it was odd, that a room beginning with a "2", would be a 1st floor room. But that's what we were told. We had asked for a 1st floor room. So, we drive in the direction the office guy pointed in, and the rooms on the 1st floor all began with "1", like you'd expect. ||||So, we drove to the other building in the back, and those all began with "3".||||So, we called the office and told him there was no Room 216 downstairs, and the guy met us outside as we drove back up. He then points to the 2nd floor, and said it was up there. Imagine that...A room beginning with "2", being on the 2nd floor.||||But here is the kicker...My wife asked him why he said it was on the 1st floor, which wasted several minutes of our time trying to find it. His reply was..."That is the 1st floor up there. This is the 'ground floor'".||||Absolutely unbelievable. So, the 1st floor is the "ground floor" (should be one and the same), and the 2nd floor is the 1st floor. ||||Who has time for that nonsense late at night when they're tired and just want to get into their room??||||Upon going up the steps and entering the "1st floor" (actually, the 2nd floor), the odor of marijuana would just about knock you over. It was AWFUL! We have never smelled anything so bad in a motel. And the carpet in the hallway was FILTHY...Numerous stains where, either something was spilled, or someone had thrown up.||||We opened the door to our room, and the room seemed clean enough and smelled clean enough. That is, until we had to make a couple of trips through the hallway to carry stuff in, and after opening the door a few times, the marijuana smell was then in our room for several hours.||||This experience was unacceptable, and again, we expect better from a Wyndham property.||||While there are many Days Inn locations we love and highly recommend (Commerce, GA, Gatlinburg, TN, etc.), this is one you should...
Read moreI made my reservation through Expedia, so thought Days Inn are a chain and have been known to be good for a night stay. This motel deserves a minus 1or 0. I saw 2 rooms, the first the the blankets sheets and whatever else was on a heap on top of the bed. The second room had such an dirty stale odor that I could hardly breathe. The hallways were filthy, looked like they hadn't been cleaned in 6 months or more. Garbage bags and dirt everywhere. Since i made my reservations through Expedia, they would not give me a refund as well I had Cathy the reservations clerk call the manager regarding the hotel disrepair and filthiness and he hung up when she said I would like to speak with him. The people that have longer term rental rooms are just short of homeless and there were arguments between males and females, heavy smoking that lingered everywhere including my so called no smoking room. The stench was horrible to put it mildly. Besides feeling sorry for the people that have to live in such conditions, I was fearful that something going wrong ( life threatening )was a great possibility! That hotel/motel should be condemned and shut down. I am truly surprised that Expedia would have this place as a recommendation on their website. I was only staying as a stop over on a long trip, but I could not have stayed there. In my 64 years of traveling i have never experienced such a horrendously filthy dirty place ever. There is absolutely no excuse for the conditions of this motel and the health laws should shut it down. I ended up sleeping in my car as I arrived at midnight and by the time I searched around the town and found everything closed at this hour of the morning. I will be contacting Expedia for a full refund and suggest that they take this Days Inn off their website. I realize this is lengthy but I want you to be clear of what to expect here! Location means nothing if a place is...
Read moreI booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. We were coming from an almost 3 hour drive so we got there maybe around 12 midnight. Checked in and went to our room. The first room they gave us literally had hair on the beds like they didn’t take the time to clean it. They front desk guy very polite and nice moved us to the second room. Second room was worse. Roaches and water all over the floor. I have two kids under the age of 4 and they couldn’t even walk on the floor because it was so wet. I spent almost an hour trying to find a last minute hotel. I did not feel safe nor did I think it was sanitary for my kids. If you have kids please do not stay here!!!!! They were people walking down the whole very sketchy. I did not feel safe! We did not stay the night told the front desk we were leaving. They guy refund us our money but of course have to wait and see if it is actually in our account after processing. The front desk person was very nice but the hotel was awful! I can’t stress this enough if you have kids please do not stay here! I was literally about to cry after calling like 5 different hotels and saying they were book for the night. Ended up finding one in Wilson 20 minutes away. We were tired but I could not allow my kids to sleep there. We did not end up getting settled in until 3am. This was the worst experience I have ever had. And I have stayed in a days inn in other areas but here it is...
