I will keep this civil. My 85 year old mother went in after I had and exam and was satisfied I referred her. The owner Mr. Kartesz performed her eye exam. He seemed rush not waiting for my mothers reply and I asked him to please slow down she wears hearing aids. Mr. Kartesz turned and told me she has 4th degree cataracts. I said then she needs surgery? He said yes her vision would deteriorate and get cloudy and blurry. I said thats a shame she loves to read is there anything we can do in the interim so she can read her books. He said yes that its possible but she still needs the surgery. OK we went out front and Mr. Kartesz explained to the staff person to take readings and that they were going to order reading glasses that would have no value after the surgery and I said thats fine she hasn't been able to read for months. Mr Kartesz expressed ordered the glasses on Wednesday to arrive in 2 days on Friday. I was called on Friday to come pick them up which I did. When I arrived home my mother tried them on and wasn't able to read. After several attempts I called his office and explained. They said try them over the weekend rotate on for a little while then off. That didn't work at all. My mother who turned 86 on 12/3/24 lives on social security and the $200 the glasses cost was a big deal but in her mind worth it if they worked. I called and spoke the same women who fitted my mom and I explained to her they didnt work. Then I said that we need a refund. She quickly and emphatically stated "WE DON'T GIVE REFUNDS". Thats when I lost my composure because there was no I'm sorry they didnt work out, OR let me talk to the owner who advised them. I said to her that I looked online and it was stated that glasses will not work if a person has 4th degree cataracts and that my mother is on social security and this was not her fault they should not have been ordered especially from a owner/professional. Again she repeated without any hesitation or apology which just fueled the fire unfortunately. I couldn't believe my ears really. My mom scheduled her cataract surgery then cancelled and then rescheduled with the place they recommended. I went in several weeks later to buy glasses since they had my prescription. I brought the glasses in the bag complete as we picked it up. After I sat down and the same women that I spoke to checked me for fitment. I asked if they could apply the price of my moms glasses or part of it. She is well trained and immediately stated WE DONT GIVE REFUNDS. After what we have been thru and the older women knew first hand. She walked over to talk to a second woman. It didnt matter at all that I paid for my exam and my mom paid for hers and new glasses and you know that our problem was discussed with the owner since he approved and ordered the glasses. But it was clear if they come back in you dont give them a refund period. Now after I stood up to leave the 2nd woman who knew everything including that I asked about a partial credit walked over and before I could open my mouth said guess what we dont give refunds. We still have the glasses and no comment from Mr Kartesz. The second woman at the last moment as I'm walking out of the store said well I was going to call the owner.....I said you had every opportunity and I'm sure he has already told you how to handle us so no thanks It wont make any...
   Read moreCalled specifically to find out if they were able to do an eye exam on a 16 month old. Was told they could. Lady on the phone was so sure she even bragged about being able to do eye exams on 3 month olds. So I set up an appointment which is of course a month out. Take off time at work for the appointment. Today go there for our appointments they hand me all the paperwork that I need to fill out for my 18 month old. Turn it back in along with our insurance information. Sit in the waiting room for 40 min past our scheduled appointment when I'm approached by the front desk lady. She asks me why I'm bringing my baby there... Hmmm I have no idea why I brought my child to an eye doctor... It has nothing to do with his eyes I'm sure... Anyways I explain that he has been getting very close to things trying to see them and our family vision history... Then she looks at me and says... Oh we can't do that here... We don't have the equipment you have to go to a pediatric eye doctor... Why was I told when I specifically called to ask that you could? Why did they set me the appointment? You mean to tell me that in the month the appointment was with them they couldn't have realized and called to cancel? Even when they called to make sure we knew about the appointment?
THEN the lady beside her says... Oh I heard the lady tell someone on the phone we could do exams on little ones. Why wouldn't you have corrected her then?!?!
I am highly disappointed in this business... This was held completely unprofessionally... I sure hope they get their act together.
They didn't care at all about the time and effort that they completely wasted for me. Now I have to wait another month to get my sons eyes checked...
I honestly can't put into words how disgusted with them I am...
Do not trust this business. They don't even know what they can...
