Virginia Furniture Market Mattress Store - Rocky Mount — Local services in Rocky Mount

Recently visited the Rocky Mount location looking for a lift recliner/chair for my father, whom at his age, needs one after a recent fall. I’ve been looking for “just the right one” for some time, and have visited several furniture retail/outlet type stores across the region lately, with no luck.

There I dealt with a guy named Aaron whom apparently has been there for years. He was not only attentive and patient (I’m picky), but asked many questions about my father’s needs, and made several recommendations for me to choose from. I felt no pressure to “buy the most expensive one” as I have found myself in nearly everywhere else I have been, and agreed to one of his preferred choices after he demonstrated several of them.

I don’t normally write reviews. In this case, however, I felt it necessary to share a great experience with a very knowledgeable (but not pushy) salesman. Aaron not only found a way to meet my very stringent needs (and likes!), but arranged for expedited delivery of the unit for my father.

I feel this type of behavior, values, knowledge and empathy is generally not exhibited very often in today’s world.

However, in MY world, on THAT day? This is the experience I received at Virginia Furniture with Aaron.

Hopefully Aaron or someone at Virginia Furniture reads this and realizes my gratitude. And even more so, I hope someone else will and decide to visit this gentleman for THEIR needs. I trust you will find the experience as rewarding as I did.

This will not be my last visit with Virginia Furniture, and I will be looking for you...

This was one of the BEST shopping experiences I have EVER had and I'm 60 years old. When I first arrived at the store I was nervous about laying on beds in front of other people, but from the moment I entered the store I was greeting by the big, beautiful, radiant smile of Mary Ellen, the store manager who instantly put me at ease.

I was extremely amazed and impressed with her knowledge of mattresses and it was immediately obvious that she truly cares about each individual customer.

I have arthritis in my lower spine and she expertly directed me to the mattresses that she thought would be the most comfortable and accommodating for my particular needs. When I chose one she made absolutely sure that I was comfortable and happy with my decision.

Mary Ellen's warm personality is truly endearing and instantly draws people in. While I was there, a wonderful newlywed couple came into shop and within a short time we were all chatting and laughing as if we were old friends.

Mary Ellen made my experience such a memorable one. I feel blessed to have met her. I feel as though I was a true winner today. I bought an AWESOME mattress set AND made an AMAZING new friend. It doesn't get any better...

July of 2021 I purchased a sofa and recliner from the main store in Rocky Mount and had a great experience so I needed a new mattress and I called there first and was told the mattress I was looking at online was at the Virginia Furniture Market Mattress store and I called and talked to Steve. He was awesome, he listened to what I was looking at online and made some suggestions on the Sealy Hybrid and it was more than what I wanted to spend but the mattress felt amazing in the store so we decided to go with Steves suggestion. Never felt pressured it was a great experience. Mary helped us decide as well and helped us with the financing. We picked up the mattress at the warehouse and took it home the same day. Would highly recommend them if you are looking for a mattress and enjoy being able to shop without pressure and have some professional advice. Thanks Steve and Mary y’all...
