Location: Rocky River store. I try to help by bagging my purchases as they are being rung up. Never again at Marcs. From now on I’m going to watch the clerk like a hawk, especially as the closeout merchandise is being tallied. On Thursday, I bought several closeout products. When I got home I noticed that several had been scanned instead of manually entered and one had rung up as $3.99 but the sticker on the box was $.99. The description on the receipt matched the box exactly. I returned on Friday to get my refund but Linda at the service desk said that closeout items are never scanned (turned out not to be true) and that there was another $.99 closeout on my receipt which must be the item in question. I returned on Saturday with ALL the items I had purchased from the closeout section on Thursday. The only item that did not match was the item in question. The sweet lady at the service counter, Lisa, scanned the item and lo and behold it rang up $3.99. The manager then had to verify that this item was indeed $.99 and that I had not just attached a $.99 sticker to it. I was refunded $3.24. I do not appreciated the insinuation that I am a liar and a cheater. If Linda (the first service desk employee) had done her job correctly and scanned the item, I would not have had to return the second time. Linda should be demoted to a stocker, she obviously is not capable of being a cashier or working at the service desk. There was no apology for the error or my time/gas or the fact I had to make two trips because of their mistake. Mistakes happen, but the consumer should not be the penalized for it. It shows a true lack of integrity and how this company really feels about their customers—they don’t (they are greedy and just want your money). I wondering many other people have been ripped off....
Read moreThis has been my go-to store since I moved to the area eight years ago, but over the past year or so, I have grown increasingly dissatisfied with the product availability, cleanliness, and reliability of this store. We now frequently have to return products as soon as we get home and notice months-old use by dates. I don’t normally think of raisins as a package I need to check the date on before purchasing, but I recently opened a package that smelled like a winery. How long would they have to sit there to ferment? There are more and more expired products on the shelves well past the use by date, rotten produce sitting in the bins, and even spills and messes in the store that go untouched for too long. I once reached for a pack of applesauce cups and found one had exploded all over several other packages and the shelves. It was neatly tucked in with all the others. A staffer must have straightened the shelf with the damaged package on it, and left the sticky, spilled product there. It’s incredibly negligent, not to mention disgusting. Very disappointing, since it is the closest to my home and has a swell closeouts section. But we’ll have to go to another store...
Read moreI love supporting Marc's because they sponsor The Fest every year, a Christian music festival, and offer affordable healthy foods there! My visit on Wednesday was extra special because Tim in produce was so friendly and kind to me, and kept everything nice and organized and stocked, and as I was shopping he smiled and made friendly conversation and thanked me for shopping at Marc's. When I was leaving he was sure to tell me to have a nice day and it made me feel significant and special how he treated me. As a business owner, I would hire Tim to represent my company, and I hope he is recognized for his dedication, hard work, and loyalty to the company and providing extra special service and customer experience. Thank you for making...
