Third Coast Comics — Local services in Rogers Park Township

Really like this place. Nice person in charge. Great selection of books. Really clean and organized. Only taking a star off because I asked to be subscribed to a series last month and I never got an email letting me know my book was in. I came in they told me my book was sold out. Frustrating because I work a job that makes it hard to get to the shop early on new release days. They told me they would make sure to email me when they get more of my book in but I was trying to get the cardstock version of all 6 issues. Now I will likely have to buy digital or buy from a scalper. Definitely will shop here again but there should be a better subscription system.

It’s just not a good experience when I leave here. If I’m in the area, I’ll stop by to pick up an issue I forgot to get before or just browse. Yes, the selection is pretty limited. That’s not the issue for me, as I’m not looking for anything very specific. The place is just not a comfortable or welcoming space. Any questions I’ve had, have been met with snarky or sarcastic answers. Likewise, if I made a statement trying to talk about relevant books or media, I’m met with one word answers. I’m not asking to have a whole conversation, but on multiple occasions it seems like they just want to get back to their hangouts behind the station. I think I enjoy the more social comic shops not too far away from this one, so I don’t see...

I'm not even going to pretend to be unbiased...I love this place. I love the genuine appreciation for the artform that abounds there. I love the community that supports it. You'll meet damn fine people there. I love Terry, and you will too. He will hip you to the new hotness, or put an indispensable classic in your hands. I love the comics. Cowls and capes by the best artists and writers. Excellent examples of every genre. And an armload of stuff you're not likely to find elsewhere.
