So disappointed! It’s happened 2 days ago and I still feel that negative emotions from that evening . Let me start from the very beginning. Years ago me, my husband and two of my kids visited this place. Our family love sushi especially my 8 years old daughter. We ordered food up to 200$. The food was good. Thanks Chef for that . So right after the food we were thinking about some dessert. My kids chose Lava Cake with Ice cream. It’s a huge size dessert, so we just decided to order one for our kids and they could share it. We don’t allow kids have a lot of sweets and the cake was fine for both of them. But what happened next just embarrassed me. The lady who brought the recipe for payment. I don’t know her name but she is short height and plus size lady ( sorry if it sounds rude but it’s what it’s) . So this lady after receiving the payment ask us weird question, how could we 4 people just order only one ice cream? She was asking this question with a grin. I was Like WHAT ??!!! It’s not even her business by asking this question. We didn’t say anything rude just left the situation and the place . So, 2 days ago my daughter ask us have some sushi again. We didn’t want to go back to this place. However our daughter wanted to go there and we didn’t refuse it her. We came to this place again and order food for 140$. They charged the 18% tip without our permission. They just informed us that the tip is already included. But this is not the main idea. After when we finish our food we decided having some desert for kids. And guess what happened this time. The short lady brought the dessert and right after her came the waiter ( young girl) and asked us to finish quickly and live the place because they have a party there now . There were a lot of other people but she asked only us. This time it hit me very hard. Like excuse me ! I am not at your home ! I didn’t eat here for free! Are you out of your mind ?!?!??!? Let my kids at least start to eat this freaking dessert!!!! After we left the place we realized there were some people who just were waiting for empty tables. And this lady ( waiter) just decided to kick us out faster for the next guests. This waiter was the only young girl who was served people that evening. I hope the owner knows who are these 2 very impolite employees. So here and now a just say goodbye to this place. Even if my kids bag me to visit this place I will never put even one step in this place...

Meh, it was okay.

Spicy mayo is my benchmark for good sushi. It was not great here. It tastes like it has mustard in it.

I ordered the spicy salmon tempura.

The salmon tasted like it came out of a can.

The Kyoto fries were delicious! The crab stick topping was torched, which gave it that wonderful caramelized flavor.

The plain fries themselves were deliciously salty.

The sweet potato sushi was good, like any other sushi place. I guess it's hard to mess this one up. The sushi rice is very good here.

The miso soup was good. Very flavorful.

The Panaang beef curry was good. This dish is usually one of my favorites, which is why I got this. It was good but I wouldn't order it again. The sauce wasn't thick like I expected.

I didn't care for the Jasmin rice. It didn't taste like anything and was dry.

Finally the Mo Yasai.

I love deep fried sushi, which is why I got this.

It was as good as I expected. The melty cream cheese & eel sauce (sweet sauce)...

I really like Nori Sushi! My favorite dish is the Garlic fried Rice. I normally get it with salmon but you can get it with your choice of protein. It is savory and just a little sweet. So good! I also really like the Fried Calamari. It is super crispy and DELICIOUS. The maki rolls are fresh and tasty. My favorite is the Salmon and Avocado roll...Yum! Both the Chicken Katsu and the Panang Curry are really delicious also.. The dining room is very nice if you choose to eat there. They also offer delivery service. I like to order ahead and pick up my order. They are fast and efficient and my order is almost always ready ahead of time. If you are in the area and want some tasty sushi and delicious Japanese entrees, give Nori Sushi a try. You won't be...

This place has always been hit-or-miss with me, sometimes the Ramen is fantastic, sometimes it is watery and tasteless. I guess it depends on who is cooking, but whoever was in Is the sushi kitchen tonight really outdid themselves. The tom yum roll and the crazy calamari Had the most flavor, really enjoyed the texture variation between each bite. The shrek role was My personal favorite, the fish tasted very fresh and was very tender. We were tempted to get the Loyola lover role but were very full after 2 appetizers, 4 roles and a dessert. Probably visit again if they have a happy hour we can take advantage of, it's little expensive but we didn't leave hungry. Tempted to try the chirashi bowl the next time we come. Great experience.😁

I ordered the spicy miso soup, unagi sashimi, smoked salmon nigiri, and kappa maki. My server was kind and courteous and made me feel welcome. The soup was delicious. A right amount of spicy to where it was not overwhelming, hot, and flavorful. The smoked salmon was not overly salty and it was a nice portion. The only "con" was that the kappa maki wasn't exactly cut evenly (which doesn't affect the flavor at all) and I asked for my unagi without sauce but it still had the glaze on there. The sushi rice was nice, they seem to have a good mixture and it compliments the their ingredients well. Their space has lots of bright and inviting colors as well. I will definitely be back.

This is a fascinating place. It's a cozy restaurant with stylish Japanese decor, and chill Brazilian music? So the food... We went for sushi, so that's all I can judge. Nori seems to specialize in rolls, and they do it well. Every one was delicious, beautiful, and made with care. Unfortunately like most sushi restaurants in Chicago, fresh salt water fish is very difficult to come by. Nori is no different. My recommendation is to pass on the nigiri sushi, and focus on the rolls. That's where Nori's artistry shines.
