A few weeks ago, I first came into the shop with one of my sisters and 2 of my children, as dress shopping had begun! I was open-minded, and even looked and tried on a few white prom dresses first and had no clue of what style or type of look I was looking for. Appointments are required to be able to try on wedding dresses, but Ms. Samantha the store manager and Ms. Ella were both so sweet and actually allowed me to try on 2 wedding dresses so that I saw hanging up! I felt right at home and so much at ease with their help with the little bit of time that I was there that I scheduled an appointment for the very next day! What is hilarious is that when I came in that day, I wasn’t even looking at ANYTHING of the style or look I had mentioned the day as I had looked through and pointed out dresses I would be eager to try on. But, Ms. Ella was scheduled with me for that day and she was SO patient with me and I felt catered to my needs and thoughts and wants of what I was looking for. Which, this meant so much to me because that day I didn’t have anyone that could be with me that day as I tried on dresses. Ms. Ella took pictures of each dress for me, helped me to video call my mom or other women in my life that I felt was important to see me try on dresses and not once did I feel rushed or pressured or anything negative. Ms. Ella provided a Cinderella and Queen-like experience that led to me finding my DREAM DRESS. Now keep in mind, I’ve been married for 7 years and my husband and I were renewing our vows and having the wedding experience we never got the chance to have with family and friends (we eloped when we got married June of 2015) and so my expectations of a dress were not high and I was looking for a “plain Jane” of a dress I’d feel comfortable and feel presentable in wearing. But, Ms. Ella, helped me to remain open-minded and we stumbled upon a dress nobody would have ever thought I would try on or ever thought I’d want to try on and it was IT. Practically no alterations would have been needed. I even named the dress Queen Elizabeth!! I had one last dress appointment scheduled, but when I went to the car I teared up and felt I couldn’t leave the dress!! I felt so silly because I was like “I’m already married why am I crying”?! LOL. But, Ms. Ella made me feel like her time with me was so valuable and even though no family and just her was with me, that day felt so sentimental and special with the wedding dress shopping experience that she gave me! Unfortunately, due to a death in the family, the vow renewal has been so I won’t be able to wear the dress. But, let me tell you this, if you want the experience of a lifetime in your dress shopping, whether alone or with others, Ms. ELLA is the one you want to make sure you share that special time with! Thank you so much, Ms. Ella! I...
Read moreI went to Perfect Dress, and there were only 3 gowns in sizes larger than 8/10 that were not A-line. Most of their samples were in a size 8 or 10 (6/8 in regular clothing), which is very small for bridal. Their dresses that were in larger sizes all looked the same. Not only does this limit the options for brides who are not incredibly thin, but I imagine that for most brides it hurts their self-esteem and makes it difficult for local brides to find unique gowns. It also sends the message that only thin brides should wear certain silhouettes, which is not the message I would hope for, especially considering how amazing mermaid and trumpet gowns look on curvy women. I feel that when you work in bridal you should want to broaden your clientele and be able to serve as many women of diverse shapes and sizes as possible, and not have to turn away customers simply because your samples are smaller than the average woman. And even if you do not end up selling to a bride, it should always be your goal to have her leave your shop feeling beautiful! The solution that many other bridal shops have found is ordering gowns in 12/14's and clipping them for smaller women, so that they can get an idea how how they fit and curvier women can fit into them as well. Then they also order their gowns in plus-size so that anyone who cannot fit into a 14 has a plus size option. This is a more inclusive way of choosing samples and allows them to serve more clients. I would hope that Perfect Dress diversifies their size options for...
Read moreI would like to start by saying that I worked decades in retail and this experience was beyond disappointing—I get the end of the day can’t wait to get home or make it to my plans kinda day but however the last thing I feel any customer should experience is the “it is not what you say but how you say it” flaw-the 1st few people we interacted with were great until the lady in a black dress with long hair made sure to tell us the closing time of 4-Honestly had it not been for my wonderful 14 year old daughter experiencing her 1st HOCO I would have left the moment she place numerous emphasis on the closing time multiple times to us-My daughter and her friend were rushed and the experience overall was extremely disappointing and cannot see myself returning to this establishment-Please note the 2 ladies in the matching shirts were wonderful and we greatly appreciate your willingness and respectful attentiveness to my daughter and friend-We did leave this locate to return to a different location with exceptional...
