I recently visited Green Tomato Buffet in Rome, GA, and I must say, it is hands down the best buffet in the county. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff. The restaurant was clean, well-organized, and had a cozy, inviting feel.

Read moreI don't know how people say this food is so good. I would've rather had a dry burger from McDonald's than this food. We were highly disappointed in the food today (Sunday). Some of the hot food options were cold (catfish nuggets, fried okra, mashed potatoes, ham) and the corn was sweet like they dumped sugar on it. All the vegetables tasted like they came straight from a can without any seasoning. The dressing was more of a finely ground stuffing and was goey, like paste. Mashed potatoes were instant ones. Macaroni tasted like buttered noddles with a 1/2 inch of cheese on top and the inside was cold. The salad bar was the only decent thing about the food today. The floors were were wet and slippery and our waitress acted like she was 1/2 asleep. If the food stays like this, we won't return. My boyfriend told the lady the meal was just okay and i asked him why he even gave it an okay rating, and he said that it was bc the Coke was delicious. If you want a good buffet at a good price go to Beans and...
Read moreThe atmosphere was inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The buffet was well-stocked throughout our visit, thanks to the hard work of the kitchen staff. These positives were much appreciated and set the tone for what we hoped would be a great dining experience.
Unfortunately, the food itself left much to be desired. We tried a wide variety of offerings, but the flavors fell short. The beans seemed canned, which isn’t necessarily a problem, but they lacked seasoning. The mashed potatoes tasted boxed and didn’t have much flavor either. The fried items were heavy on batter, overly salty, and lacked depth in seasoning.
I do appreciate the effort to include traditional southern faire like fried chicken gizzards and black-eyed peas for New Year’s Day, which showed thoughtfulness in the menu. However, the overall experience with the food was underwhelming. Especially at $26 for two people with only...
