Kristy's Pet Salon — Local services in Rosenberg

Kristy is wonderful and her salon is quite impressive. I actually am a dog groomer and have never had my dog bathed by someone else. I am traveling and just did not want to deal with bathing my dog. My dog is very nasty to me when I "do things to it." She knows if I am trying to clean her ears or trim her nails etcetera and she turns into a beast from hell. Kristy's grooming salon is clean and is pretty big. We walked in without an appointment and Kristy was able to squeeze us in. When we walked in she was shaving a lab. To my trained eye, I saw that she had done a wonderful job blending the coat in the body to the scruff and the dog didn't have some unsightly poof of hair around its neck. His coat was smooth and even. We paid a little extra with my dog to have her nails filed smooth so they wouldn't be sharp after being trimmed. I expected my dog to be an absolute unholy abomination while being bathed and all that. It really speaks to Kristy's skills that my chihuahua only tries to bite her once. My chihuahua was actually really happy when she was done, it looked like she had a boost of confidence. This visit swayed me to get my dog groomed more often just because she was so happy when she was done. Some dogs act shamed after grooming and some are happy. Kristy even put a smart bandana on my dog and personally as a groomer I thought bandanas were overrated on most dogs. Some dogs look very cute with a bandana and do seem to like the bandana. Some don't care for bandanas. Seeing my dog with a bandana has probably also changed my opinion and I like them better. It Tickled me pink when my husband came back with our spoiled little chihuahua, seeing her feel clean and feeling refreshed and wearing a bandana. It was a hoot. Also Kristy has a section of coats and clothes for dogs. Each coat was $5 (SO CHEAP) and the money from the sales goes to the local fire department. Kristy's salon deserves so much credit and praise. My shih tzu puppy had his very first grooming yesterday. It was also my first time getting one of my babies groomed. I didn't know how things worked and had a lot of questions. I had done some research on types of grooming for the breed and I also researched local places. Kristy's had the highest reviews. When I went in the staff was very pleasant and I had questions specifically for the groomer. Tonn (I hope I'm spelling it right) was very kind and educated me on keeping my baby's coat matt free. She took the time out to answer all my questions. I needed the education because I was clueless. I went with what she recommended we do with my baby Rollie. She never pressured me and I'm glad I went with what she suggested. When I left I felt at ease. Upon pick up I had a completely different looking baby. In a good way!!!! He looked amazing and even more adorable. The cut was beautiful too. My husband was very impressed and even more impressed when I told him what I paid. Back in the day he used to have his shih tzus groomed and said Rollie got more done and looked better for less than what he use to pay. Rollie also did not seem scared upon pickup. We had previously experienced with another boarder that on a few occasions, that our dog would return home full of anxieties, skittish, and strange. I initially thought she had to get accustomed to being away from her daily environment and being boarded. After a second time with the other company, I felt so bad for putting her through such an ordeal that it made her feel that way, and smelling not so good, even though we paid for a shampoo prior to picking her up.

We recently used Kristy’s for boarding for 5 days and I was very impressed with the condition of our Jade’s mental and physical demeanor. It was very evident she received a real shampoo.
