I have posted this same review at Yelp. It is worth noting that after posting this review on Yelp, the owner looked me up in his records and contacted me, talked over me, cut me off while I was speaking, and excused his poor behavior "good customer service" because he was trying to offer a free massage. When I updated my yelp review to include these details, he threatened me with legal action. So, if you have a poor experience and post about it publicly, you also run the risk that the owner will harass you and threaten legal action. Here is my review of the services and facilities:
I've had 3-4 massages here. Each time the massage itself served the therapeutic purpose of helping relieve body aches and pains, but the overall experience leaves a lot to be desired. A few major points:
It's difficult to schedule an appointment. The online system isn't reliable and I've had it just flat our refuse to work on a couple occasions. Calling doesn't do any good because they aren't good about answering the phone, and have a call back rate of around 50%. I've been trying to schedule a massage this week and haven't been able to. I'm going to give up and go elsewhere.
I've also had the problem of buying a package that includes the sauna, and then being told that the sauna isn't on. The explanation given to me was that the person who scheduled the appointment didn't bother scheduling it, even though I told her I purchased the package and wanted to use it. I was offered a discount, but that isn't really an adequate remedy. What I really wanted was a relaxing spa treatment after an ugly week, and I didn't get it.
The therapists are unprofessional. I've had a couple questionable experiences, but on my last visit it went completely over the top. The therapist I saw spoke constantly, about inappropriate topics, and at one point said "want to hear something really gross?", and proceeded to start telling the story even after I said no. I had to cut her off and tell her to stop telling it, and even then she badgered me about it. "It's not that bad!". Really? Because you just told me it was super gross. I don't want to hear it. I'm here to relax.
They short you on time. I've never had a massage there start on time, but they always end on time. If I'm paying for 60 minutes, I should get 60 minutes.
Last time I was there the bathroom was dirty. As in, someone had their period and dripped blood on the toilet and no one had cleaned it, even though it was obviously old and dried up. Not ok.
I've continued to go back because the location is convenient, but it's just not worth the...
Read moreBeware, the owner Gaslights the customers and does not listen or help. He and his wife aka office manager harassed me by calling my personal phone over 12 times. I had to file a police report due to harassment and instability of his conduct. His office manager, also wife, scolded me for not answering her calls when I clearly was out of town on a work schedule shift made it impossible to return a call that I already took care of my affairs before leaving. I was a paying member for over a year and I had given a month notice to leave and canceled my membership with Massage Xcape. I was happy to reinstate my membership as instructed filled out the forms to do so and paid the fee. Upon checking out I got accused of scamming his massage facility over $75 🤣 Why should I pay 3 months of $25 when I canceled my membership. I asked why my membership never got canceled as even my massage therapist knew I was leaving out of town. The owner screamed at me saying I was trying to scam him for $75 of the past 3 months of non paid membership. He was so upset he was yelling at me in his business infront of patrons where I had to hang up on him. I paid 150.00 full price to get out of the salon SAFELY. He was so hostile he went into my personal information file and called me on my PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER on way home to threaten me!!! He called me over 12 times screaming at me over the phone...how scary, unethical and unprofessional. Be careful. Why would you resort to screaming at a established, good paying customer for over a year because he failed to cancel a membership that was reported to 2 different workers. Be careful. This is so important to know that these guys are being reported to other agencies because of the harassment and lies that they're making up that I would try to Swindle a company...
Read moreI have had several massages at Massage Xcape, with several different massage therapists. The overall atmosphere is calm and serene, just the right environment for relaxation. They keep the massage rooms nice and warm, lights low, calm music playing, etc. The staff at the front desk have all been helpful and kind. They use Tippy to tip your therapist, so even if you prepaid for your massage, you can tip with a credit or debit card. That is an incredibly helpful thing for someone who doesn’t tend to carry cash. Scheduling is easy, I’ve never not been able to get an appointment.
The best two massage therapists I’ve seen so far are Elle and Michelle. Elle is kind and knowledgeable. She was able to find my trouble spots intuitively and worked the tension out with skill and ease. Michelle is phenomenal. She used some movement techniques while targeting my areas of tension for an even deeper level of muscle release than I anticipated. She is able to use deep pressure without it being painful, and as a result of her skill I left feeling the most relaxed I’ve felt in months. She was also able to relax and release my tense and pulled-forward shoulders in a way I’ve never experienced before. I literally feel like my posture is better after my massage with her.
Overall, I definitely recommend Massage...
