To whom it may concern
I am submitting this formal complaint regarding my experience as a student at Northern Medical Career College. My enrollment period was marked by misrepresentation, inconsistent agreements, and what I believe to be discriminatory treatment. The following is a chronological account of key incidents:
Externship Removal I was removed from my assigned externship site due to alleged “late payments,” despite a prior verbal agreement with the program director permitting my payment arrangement. This removal occurred after my remaining tuition balance had been paid in full.
Change in Director’s Position Upon returning from vacation, the program director denied our prior agreement and refused to acknowledge our discussion regarding payment arrangements.
Hostile Interactions Following this incident, I experienced multiple hostile and unprofessional interactions with faculty, both via phone and in private meetings, whenever I attempted to address my enrollment status.
False Promises of Re-Enrollment Over the following months, I was repeatedly assured that I would be allowed to re-enroll. However, no action was ever taken to restore my status. These assurances appear to have been made without any intent to follow through.
Differential Treatment Based on Financial Standing Based on my observations, students without financial difficulties progressed through the program without similar obstacles, while those facing financial hardship experienced delays, additional scrutiny, or removal from sites.
Discriminatory Comments As a person of color, I was subjected to statements I believe to be discriminatory. This included being told to “get in the back of the line” and receiving remarks about my attire implying that I could afford to make larger payments.
Verbal Agreements Not Honored Several verbal agreements with staff were later disregarded, resulting in disadvantageous outcomes. I believe these were used as leverage to control payment timelines and behavior at externship sites.
Termination from Program These incidents ultimately culminated in my termination from the program, which has had a significant negative impact on my education and...
Read moreWhere do i start ? I'm at a lost for words...... I'm Completely disgusted with the administration here and how it's been ran for these past years . My daughter tells me the dreadful stories coming from this school and it's time to finally speak up and shed light on this place . It's Completely ridiculous I hear stories about faculty going on day trips to support health care matters down town while these students are behind on work and unaware of the materials needed to pass the course . There is something to be said about the quality of education and leadership here . It's outright shameful to the students walking into the classroom with a complete different teacher every other month .How can anyone learn with so many different methods of teaching and personalities . I mean i paid for my child to receive a proper education and all I've been told about is how students can not keep up with the workload nor understand half of what is being taught here . Something is to be said about such disorder and Unspeakable misconduct within this place . Students have not received a proper graduation ceremony . I mean I would have loved to see my daughter walk at her graduation at least or something !!! I've witnessed her spend countless hours on research with which half of the material that the course did not provide. There's even so much more to this I can't even wrap my mind around . I'm just glad she's graduated and done from this madness ,mind you she works two jobs and still managed to deal with this unprofessional institution. Be careful read all of your contracts and be diligent as we are in some very messy and troubling times. Some ppl are just...
Read moreThis school is completely disorganized do not waste your money. The program has not had consistent teachers or equipment at all. I was on a wait list to get an extern site for 3 months. My attempt to resolve the issue was to get my own extern site and both assistant / director of the school rejected the request. I had absolutely zero say so in where my externship would be at . They placed me at a site an hour and a half away from my home. Feel like this was intentionally done. The school is contractually obligated to place you at an extern site with a minimal of 2 sites if the first one doesn't work out. They made me wait another 6 months after being let go from the first site to finish out. I was then told by the director it was my fault for getting kicked from the site. Even though by law I was not given a written warning or verbal warning of removal. The director stated I wouldn't have enough time to complete the program with the time alloted. Now I'm without a career 22,000 dollars down the drain. Also ,they have recently altered the school contract since I enrolled regarding students rights to speak out about malpractice and potentially suing their institution. That should say everything about this place ,,wink wink ......I would never recommend this institution to anyone save your money and peace of mind. Go...
