First Target (according to a plaque I only noticed when playing pokemon-go). Did have a very disappointing customer service experience though. Bought some clamp type pants hangers there years ago. Worked great. Returned for more of the same, only to find they were no longer available. Bought alternate. Went home pants fell right out. I went to return them, with receipt. Target could not process return because I had bought them the same day which means they couldn't do the basic charge reverse. Could not do anything else either because apparently the receipt wasn't fully printed and it was missing part of the barcode. Stood around for well over half an hour then I left. Very very disappointing. Target has a return policy, and it could not be honored due to their own mistake. It's not fair for them to waste my time. Went back the next day and had it take care of. At that point the customer service person was quite rude. Spent a lot of time chatting with co-worker, which greatly annoyed me. I was standing there having wasted more than an hour in total due to crappy product but mainly due to Target *ucking *hit up. Finally got my money back. Person said 'have a nice day'. I said 'A nice day would have been getting my money back the first time I tried to return this' and turned to go. Target person response was 'well, la de da' I almost turned around and gave her a taste of what I was really thinking of Target at that moment, but I just walked out. Did complain on target facebook. I felt Target should have done better, being that I was holding up my end of their return policy and they were failing to be able to deliver on their end. Their only response was thanks for info they would bring up the associates behavior with them or something. Very...
Read moreSo me and my family from the Philippines are touring Minnesota for Christmas and decide to go to this Target to stock up on food, supplies and booze. Everything goes smoothly until its time to buy a few beers and champagne. We go into the wines and liquor section and present our passports and ids, lo and behold the cashier at the counter and even the manager on duty say they only accept US state or government ID. We're tourists so naturally we only have Philippine Ids, but fine we play along. I show them the US Visa page of my passport which is a public document issued by no less then the US Federal Government and the manager on duty just asks some guy on the radio who probably doesnt even understand the import of a United States Visa (or how stringent the requirements are) and said guy just says "no we only accept state or US id". Im a 30 year old tourist with a US Visa that clearly states my birthdate and Im told they cant honor the same. At this point my 62 year old mother point blank asks the manager if she looks like shes 21 or below. So long story short, no booze, and we all go back to our air bnb pissed. Thanks Target for being so tourist friendly. With a policy like that you might as well hang a sign outside: "We dont sell liquor to tourists". Id be grateful to anyone in the twin cities who can point me to a government office that issues a "tourist id" that can satisfy Target's requirement. Happy Holidays and cheers to making tourism just a little...
Read moreNewly remodeled, this store was the most elegant-looking Target I have ever seen. The shelves were decently stocked, and all the staff was very friendly. I was very impressed with the stainless steel and light wood design for the grocery area. The produce looked fresh. The team members behind the counter in the deli and bakery were all intently focused and working hard.
I must say however that the meat department was pretty lackluster. I am in a unique position to understand how difficult it is to keep this department full, as I used to be a meat department team member at the Woodbury East SuperTarget. [90M/yr gross sales - very high-volume store... I was told that approximately 55% of all that was grocery.)
Because of my own experience, I understand. I will let it slide and add that 5th star, but not for that reason. The reason was Mary.
A white woman in her 40s or 50s named Mary helped me at the customer service counter.. I was just paying my red card , but she made delightful small talk whilst waiting for the machine to process the transaction. I could sense that her desire to help me was genuine. Sometimes customer service counter workers get so crabby with one customer and then take it out on the next 3 or 4 customers. Either she didn't have any crappy customers before me, or she's just really really good at being happy to do her job. Way to go Mary! You made the...
