After trying the ramen at Ichiddo on University Ave in Saint Paul, I was excited to find out that one had opened here in Roseville. We stopped there to eat tonight and the food was phenomenal! However, Grace, our server, left much to be desired. Before we even got settled into our booth, she asked what we wanted to drink. I asked her what kind of soda they have and she actually rolled her eyes at us! She seemed to be in a huge rush although the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered and our food came out hot, fresh and delicious. She looked very put out when my husband asked for extra napkins. Ten minutes later, Grace came over and literally tossed our check down onto the table - while we were still eating! - and walked away without asking us how our food was or if we needed anything. Five minutes later, Grace came back and asked if we were ready to pay. We were still eating our dinner! I said no, I'm not ready, yet. Five minutes later, she came back, AGAIN, and asked if we were ready to pay. I was still eating my meal!!!!!!!! It seemed like she was rushing us out the door! Then, when I was ready to pay, she came and grabbed the checkbook without asking how everything tasted or if we even wanted to order anything else. What's worse was that hubby and I went out to have a nice meal to celebrate our birthdays, and we were unable to enjoy our meal or each other. For the attitude that Grace displayed tonight, I decided not to leave a tip. This is the first time in my life that I've never tipped the wait staff of a restaurant. I feel horrible about it, but a tip was not warranted for what we were subjected to tonight.
I know it's Friday night and that Grace would rather be out having fun with her friends, or maybe she's having issues at home, but when someone is working in the customer service industry, it's called leave your personal issues at the door, SMILE and have a pleasant attitude, and do your job. My motto is "fake it till you make it". I work in the medical field; I have been working closely with patients for over 22 years, so I know what it's like to work with the public and how challenging it can be. But no matter what, you ALWAYS show that you value and appreciate anyone who comes into your establishment - unless they're mistreating you and if so, call the manager - so they keep on coming back. The customers are the ones who provide your paychecks. Without them, you wouldn't have a job. If you're having a rough day, fine. But you MUST NOT let that show. If you feel like you're gonna explode, politely excuse yourself and vent your frustrations elsewhere.
I'm hoping that tonight was just a fluke, and that management will sit down to have a chat with Grace and be able to find out what's bothering her so much. I will be back to your restaurant because I love your food and I want to give Grace a chance to redeem herself. If this happens again, though, I will be in touch with your corporate office. No one deserves to be treated like we...
Read moreI already ordered an online pick up at Grubhub at 12 noon, and it said that I should expect it to be done by 12:15 or 12:20 noon. I came in there waiting for my order, and then it was extended to 12:35 and I was still there waiting up until 12:50, at that point I had to leave since I have work at 1pm. Then, I tried cancelling it on Grubhub and the first assistance on Grubhub told me that I need to cancel it through calling them, so I called them instead, trying to cancel my order and get a refund for it, plain and simple, and instead of being understanding with my situation and offer a another way of resolving the issue, the guy on the phone was yelling instead, and was not understanding what it is that I am trying to get through. So, I tried again by telling him my point calmly, but the guy cut me off and just kept on yelling at me on the phone and was not giving me the chance to say anything. At this point, I had to end the call while he was still yelling because clearly, the guy was not listening at all. I am an understanding person, and I know the guy was just frustrated for working all by himself as a server on a busy weekend, but there are always other ways of approaching and resolving issues without having to yell at your customers on the phone. I used to be one of their regular customers, and if I am gonna be honest, I used to recommend this place quite a lot to everyone because of their food, but experiencing the worse interaction I've ever had today with one of their employees made me not even want to come in and eat here anymore. Thankfully, I was able to get my refund after getting different assistance on Grubhub. Now, I just hope that Ichiddo would do something about...

My boyfriend and I came back to here this past Sunday to give them another shot. 3 months have gone by since we first tried this location (that review can be seen below) and I have to say I do really feel they have stepped up their game to be on par with the other locations now! Everything came out quick, fresh, hot, and delicious! No complaints at all. The service was fantastic, attentive and very friendly. We'll be coming back here for sure and I recommend you give them a shot too if you're in the area!
At the moment I can't really recommend this location, but I also understand that they only just opened and are still getting the hang of everything and a good rhythm going.
Our server was fantastic. She was attentive and very friendly and patient with us waiting for another in our group to arrive. She also always made sure that our drinks were full, and I appreciate that.
The food however left much to be desired especially compared to the Saint Paul location that we frequent. The noodles came out cold and far too hard, my egg was also cold in the middle. However, the flavor was still fantastic. Their pork buns are great as well, I have no complaints at all about them.
All in all, I'd give this place a couple months to get better and be in par with Ichiddo's other locations. I think they'll get there soon, and I look forward to...
