I needed a new battery for my vehicle and couldn't get in to Tires Plus. Searching the area near my workplace I found that the Batteries Plus Store in Roseville had one for a decent price, with 10% off if I ordered it online. I called the store and they verified that they could install it for free at that location. It all seemed good, but when I went there it was anything but that. When I arrived the place was jammed--a cold snap was coming and there were lots of customers looking to replace their auto battery. But there were at least six staff working, and they were able to keep the long line moving. When it was my turn a guy (I think his name was Warren) went out to install my battery. Keep in mind that this place doesn't have an indoor service area--they change out batteries in the parking lot, and it was 4 degrees. After a few minutes I saw he was having trouble removing my battery, because he kept coming back into the store to get a different socket. The place keeps their tools in a large toolbox near the front counter, and it appears to be a jumbled mess that requires staff to spend a long time hunting down the right tool. After the sixth trip in for a different socket I went out to see what the problem was, and he was muttering "must be metric". I told him no, it's a Ford, it's not metric, but by then it was too late. He had stripped the head of the bolt that holds the battery down by attempting to loosen it with the wrong size sockets. By then a long time had passed, and another guy who appeared to be senior, "Sean" or "Shawn" stepped in to help. They switched from a socket to a vise grip and pliers, and later to a hammer and chisel, in an attempt to free up the bolt. While they claimed it was loosened, after close to an hour of watching the guy make over 15 trips in and out of the store to fetch different tools, seeing him wrenching on the thing out in the cold, swearing and shaking his tired wrist, and it still wasn't out, I had enough. I took my new battery and left, and had to pay my regular garage 27 bucks to install it. So much for the savings I thought I was getting by choosing Batteries Plus. When I returned a couple of days later with my old battery to get a credit it was nearly as busy, but with half as many staff as on my first visit. Eventually a woman came out (possibly the owner or their spouse) who offered to help, but it turns out she didn't know how to handle any of the customers' needs and had to ask the other staff. So why offer to help? So my assessment of this store is this: I would give it one star, except that I think the employees seem to really care about helping customers as best they can. The guy who tried to remove my old battery really gave it everything he had, and in challenging conditions. I see that the store ownership frequently responds to reviews here, so my advice for them is: 1.) Put someone in charge when it's busy who knows what they're doing, to prioritize the workflow and assign staff. The scene I observed the two times I was there was like the Keystone Cops, 2.) Make sure the staff has the proper tools and training to do the job. Socket sets from Harbor Freight are dirt cheap--the employees should be bringing the whole set out to the car to remove auto batteries, not running in and out with individual sockets, and they should make sure they have the right socket before they crank on a bolt and wreck it. Based on my experience I can't recommend this place for an auto battery unless you plan to install...
Read morePlease trained your employees to do a better job!. How can you called yourself an business with this awful customer service??
These employees, mainly kids who do not know what the hell they doing and don't even bother doing an through check. They did an sloppy inadequate job and give the wrong car battery size to my sister which was way too small for her car.
How do you mistake battery size 27 for size 24?! Even after seeing the old battery and then give us a whole different group size battery when it wasn't even the right size to the original one. How are they so incompetent and can't comprehend basic common sense?!
My sister has has no choice but to drive with the new smaller battery back there the next day to exchanged it because they took her old battery, it was already dead and can't functioned. So she wasn't able to drive the car in the first place there with her dead battery.
So the next day, she tried to exchanged it for the right battery group size after telling them about their mistake and the employee did not take accountability whatsoever for their mistake and says they can't exchange it because it has been used.
It was only slightly used because It was the employee's mistake in the first place for doing such an inadequate incompetent sloppy job. Blaming the customers when it's the employee's themselves who committed the mistakes, it shows you that they don't care about being morally ethical in an business settling.
We called the Maplewood location, told them about our situation and the fault of the roseville employee for giving us the wrong battery size and if we can exchange it even if it's slightly used and guess what?
The response was that they are willing to honored our request without questions asked, they did make sure to get permission from the manager. They took an look at the battery size from the hood and even said the roseville employee give us the wrong battery size. They even questioned how the hell those roseville employees give us the wrong battery size.
Honestly this is what happened when they hired kids who can't comprehend anything or have no prior experiences because look at the horrendous customer service, and the inadequate incompetent job they doing at this business setting. Our experience was proof of that.
Please do better as a business and trained your staff to do a better job. We won't be coming back to this location after this bad ordeal, putting us through so much stress because of their careless mistake and the rude...
Read moreThis place has terrible customer service, and resolution skills . How are you going to claim that you have tech experts, and the product that you’re getting fixed Comes back worse?
I went in on a Saturday to get my camera lens fixed and I had to order the part overnight in order to get it fixed faster. Otherwise I would have to wait a week or two.
When it comes in on a Tuesday as they’re trying to fix my camera, they damage my front screen and returned it back to me with Glitch lines. Mind you they never told me what the process was with how they would fix my camera lens all they did was make it seem like it was an easy fix. I never knew that they had to remove my front screen in order to fix my camera lens as I am not a tech guy and I’m oblivious to this. I’ve never broken any screens on any of my iPhones in the past so my friends suggested me to come here. I didn’t know any better.
When they return my phone and explain to me what happened they never gave me a choice on how I wanted to be compensated. All they did was say that they overnighted me a new screen and that they would fix it the following Thursday. How about you ask the customer how they want to be compensated not just assume? I was OK with just having my camera lens fixed because it was just one but I’m not gonna have all these non-apple products on my phone as thought just makes the phone replica at that point.
Last, but not least they tried to refund me the overnight cost I spent to get my camera lens fixed and the refund didn’t even work. All they did was say come back and will try again when we fix your phone screen. This place is pathetic. How can I feel comfortable that you would fix my phone screen when you damaged it and that wasn’t even what I was getting fixed that day? This...
