Micha African Hair Braiding — Local services in Ross Township

Hi you all I made an appt for 9 am to have my hair braided a certain way. I did text the picture to Micah so she could tell me pricing and also know the design. Micah informed me it would be 180-200 for the braiding style and length I wanted. I arrived at 9, she arrived 15/20 mins later to start my hair. Micah over booked herself and began working me and another client hair so she was in between rushing. The initial braid Micah did had to be taken down because it was not right and she wanted to charge me 300 for a length I did not ask for, I informed her I will not worry about getting the style and I will Just leave. Micah then states she will fix my hair and braid it like the picture. She begin doing knotless on my hair which was fine but she made it the top half mighty quick. Once Micah made it to the top part of my head the braids begin getting bigger. I told Micah I did not like the front braids being too big (meaning packed up with weave) . Once again she sts she will fix it. Before she begin braiding my hair she knew I have a soft texture to my hair which has to be tentative to because of it being so soft. She then told me she was unable to do style because I have no edges when in reality I have a head full of hair with baby hair. My hair has been braided plenty of times to know my hair is braid-able. Micah then suggests she can braid it another way for it to look nice but it looked horrible in the end. Before even finishing she made me pay the full amount (you pay now) is what she said. I would not recommend for you guys to get your hair braided by the owner , she is careless and doesn’t care how your hair looks as long as she gets paid. Make a long story short, before I left shop I told her I do not like my hair and asked if she could fix it or refund me back some of the money I paid. She begin arguing with me and tell me she will call me but never did. Do not recommend, her service and professional is trash. I made an appointment and was quoted $200 when I arrived I was told $300 which is very typical for the salon . The person that did my hair was arguing on the phone for the first 2-3 hours . She then out of the blue told me to go to another braider . I didn’t mind but this braider was new and also her braids wasn’t consistent with the first braider braids so I looked in the mirror because I could feel the difference in size and shape . I was then verbally attacked by the first braider because I looked in the mirror . She was upset because I looked in the mirror and showed them the difference . She is very argumentative. So the first braider started on my hair again and then maybe 20 mins later she grabbed her purse and walked out the door . She didn’t say a word to me to let me know what was going on . You would think after the scene she caused she would have better customer service. She was gone about 2 hours . After maybe an hour and a half a third braider stepped in until she returned . She didn’t apologize, she didn’t give an explanation. She returned on FaceTime talking on the phone . When she finished she just walked off and went to the back . Hair service was fast & prompt but braiders DO NOT specialize in keeping their customers natural hair healthy. Got my hair done, and it was very tight, which was expected due to it being a fresh hairstyle which is fine, where the problem runs in is that after drowning hair in water, using wild growth oil, foam, and leave in conditioner to loosen braids because pain became unbearable, the braids did not loosen up at all. Also kept me awake majority of the time and I also had to be up for work at 9am. I am exhausted and my head is still throbbing and painful due to braiders braiding entirely too tight. I also spoke with the woman who did my hair yesterday asking her if there was anything she could do to loosen my braids or give me a style that does not require much tension and woman got a attitude with me & also told me I would not get a refund because the Owner does not allow it. I also asked WHILE being serviced could my edges not be braided and they insisted on braiding them because they were long. After i said no for the 3rd time they STILL braided my edges. It seems as if they don’t understand or if they don’t comprehend.
