We WERE regular Kroger customers (spending approx $150-$200/week) until the experience below. Horrible experience at this Kroger 2 weeks ago. It was a rainy Sunday morning before 11:00 am, so obviously was not that busy yet. Went with our 5 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Every single cart that you could use for children was outside, not in the lot, but on the sidewalk and all were completely soaked. Although disappointed, we grabbed a regular cart and started shopping. Once we arrived at the bakery, we stopped and asked for a cookie for the kiddos, something we do regularly here, at Target, etc. most of the time, the bakery rep is accommodating. This day, however, we were informed "we only serve sugar cookies and we're out". Ok, we thought, whatever, and moved on. We then made it to the meat section and had intended to pick up some organic beef to make a stew. We noticed that there were no cubed beef options, so we grabbed a package of chuck and went to the counter to see if they could cube it for us. Again, the person behind the counter responded negatively and stated "we don't do that, sorry". We knew that it had been done in the past, and couldn't figure out why we were told no. At this point, frustration was building and I told my wife that I was going to go say something to the manager. I arrived at the customer service desk and adjacent to the coffee setup (with no coffee at it) was a half used bottle of windex and a roll of paper towels. A young man stood behind the counter posting his busy morning to Facebook and GUZZLING a Red Bull. He finally noticed me after I cleared my throat a few times. I asked to speak to his manager. The assistant manager came out after a few minutes. I told her about all of the things that went wrong and she stated that the carts shouldn't have been left out in the rain, we shouldn't have been told no about the cookie, and we should not have been negatively about the meat. She also apologized for the windex but NEVER OFFERED A SOLUTION. I told her that we were regular customers but at this point they were losing out $150-$200 a week to Publix. Realizing that we were not getting anywhere, we left the cart at customer service and went the the Publix across the street. After a very pleasant shopping experience (and $225 in groceries), I noticed the woman bagging my groceries at the Publix WAS THEIR ASSISTANT MANAGER. I explained my experience across the street to her and thanked her for her leadership...
Read moreThis is my regular Kroger, I am not one to be overly critical however the mediocrity of this location has increased tangibly over the last three years and this is feedback that is important for the company as a whole to take seriously.
It is the day before a severe snow storm is predicted in Atlanta. Grocery stores are crowded, I understand and it is reasonable to be prepared for long wait times. What is unreasonable is for this store to siphon all customers through only half the self checkout lanes and 2 employee manned registers. Why self check out lanes would be closed in the first place is beyond my understanding since the customers do the work themselves. Keeping half the lanes closed during normal times is inconvenient to customers already having to check out their own groceries, but keeping them closed when lines back up into the aisles as customers prepare for severe weather is ridiculous. At approximately 2:15pm on 1/9/2025 when I asked management when they would be opening up more lanes to accommodate the circumstances I received a cold “we’ll open them when it gets busy”. While I am unsure how much busier management would deem prompting opening of the lanes as appropriate given the present condition of the store, I am sure of management’s callous and inconsiderate attitude towards customers. I promptly walked out of the store sans groceries and went to Trader Joe’s instead.
Alternatively, I’d recommend the Trader Joe’s to former Kroger customers which is located a few minutes down the Johnson Ferry road from this Kroger location. Pricing is now comparable to Kroger however Trader Joe’s staff has ALWAYS been friendly, courteous, responsive to concerns, and all lanes have been open and manned by staff with a sense of urgency and respect for customer’s time even for regular busy hours. My experience at Kroger today was the straw that broke the camels back for me and I will be hardpressed to support this location as a customer...
Read moreThis Kroger is dishonest and awful. First of all, every time I go, something is marked on sale, then rings up at full price. I was JUST there and bought some ground beef marked at $5.99. It rang up at full price. When I got home I called and complained to the front end "manager" Megan and got a bunch of excuses. "Maybe it was a digital deal?" Uh, no, it was a yellow sticker and it was supposed to be on sale and don't treat me like I'm an idiot because you are too irresponsible and dishonest to mark your prices correctly. My other complaint is that the self-checkout has these video cameras that they will force you to stand there and review when THEIR TECHNOLOGY glitches out. I use reusable bags and even when I push the correct button to add one, it flags me. It also flags me whenever items shift on the carousel. Then you have to stand there while they come over and watch the video with you standing there, like you are a common criminal. Make no mistake, the video shows nothing and proves nothing, it's just blurry footage, in my case it's blurry footage of me adding my extra bag??!! And it's insulting and embarrassing to have to stand there while all the other customers are around, and watch this video of myself HONESTLY checking out. This has happened two times now and I'm done with this Kroger. They treat me like a criminal while I am being honest, meanwhile, they are cheating on their prices and when I call to complain, they make it sound like it's my error and don't even go back to check what I'm telling them. So basically more customers will be cheated. I don't have time to go to customer service every time I check out to have their sale prices corrected. JUST PUT THE CORRECT PRICES ON THINGS! You're already gouging us on food with price and shrinkflation, stop trying to cheat us with fake sales. Reporting this store to the Better Business Bureau for deceiving pricing practices.
