So we stopped in here for a Sunday afternoon drink on a hot afternoon. Great concept with craft cocktails on tap and right on Canton Street. A welcome respite from the heat but you still get that outdoor patio feeling with the oversized garage door. It was calm, and relaxing with soft background music and not overly crowded. Bartenders were super friendly (shout out to Erica and Chance) and easy to talk to. Not very crowded but only open for one week. They have a rotation of 8 vodka and bourbon cocktails on tap. They provide free samples, which is nice. We tried all of the vodka cocktails and highly recommend the John Daly, think Arnold Palmer, and the Rico Guavez. These are light and refreshing and not too sweet. The others we tried were really tasty but too sweet for our taste so we would not be getting a full drink of these. Will have to come back to try the other drinks since the menu changes daily. While we were there we met the owner who was super friendly. Since they have 8 taps, we recommended adding two beers on tap to the menu to accommodate a variety of drinkers. (There are a few choices in cans available). I like a cocktail but my husband prefers beer. The space does connect to a back deck and the main gate city brewery and tabs do transfer between the two spaces, which is nice. But for convenience, I recommend adding some beers to the menu. Overall, we had a great experience and...

To answer the most common question....they have beer in a can, but the are piloting some on tap mixed drinks. Most are either vodka or bourbon based. No beer on tap here, you have to go down to their tap room for their full selection of beers.
Atmosphere is wonderful. They have a garage door open, but the a/c is on! Much cooler than the outdoor temps.
The rest: the drinks themselves are pretty good. I posted the current menu, but they rotate the selection. Staff was attentive and helpful. I think they missed a few obvious things such as a big screen for sports (anyone in the area like college football?) . They allow outside food in but only have chips. We thought they should have 2-3 taps for their most popular beers. Those strolling Canton St. May not want to go to the main tap room.
We enjoyed this overall, and it seemed like many of these things may be in the works. Until then, stop by and try...
Read moreI like Gate City, but had a bad experience in this "room" of it. Went there on a date and was harassed by other patrons. One of them stood very close to us as if to cause a reaction. Others showed up that were equally strange looking and seemed to want to start something. They were not there to peacefully interact. for some reason, the bartender had issues working the register as well. Was awkward checking out. Bad experience, but gave it 3 stars since we like the...
