I don’t know what happened to the comment I left during alive after 5. I came today to find the menu to order for pick up and noticed it wasn’t here. On Thursday I went to alive after 5 for the first time. I hadn’t been able to eat anything all day at work and it was 7pm when I got here. I WAS STARVING. When I arrived I realized I made a huge mistake with how packed it was. The ladies at the front greeted me nicely and I found a spot at the bar to sit at. In my head I was expecting horrible food and service because of how INSANE IT WAS IN THERE but I as too invested to turn around.
Well they proved me wrong. I believe their names were Lily and Rachel (young ladies working the bar that didn’t look past 22 lol) treated me AMAZINGLY. They were handling the bar as if they had been doing this for 40 years about to retire.
In all seriousness I was shocked because in all honesty when I saw how young they were I was also expecting them to get overwhelmed very quickly but nope. My tacos al pastor came out very quickly and I devour them and they tasted better than any other time before. I had an amazing frozen margarita and even had some nice conversation at the bar and got to network a bit as I work at an Allstate agency nearby.
I saw they were running out of pens at the bar so I was able to give them pens I had and hopefully promote us as well haha.
But I look forward to taking my coworkers here for lunch or after work as I had such an amazing experience.
I didn’t catch his name but the young guy that brought my food was very attentive too and I saw him working that floor very well. So was most of the staff. Again, I’m surprised with how such a young staff handled themselves so well in such a crazy environment. It reminded me of my young days working at a pizzeria trying to survive the rush except they handled it better haha.
I hope everyone that day gets the praise they deserve especially my new...

The menu seemed to cater to Vegetarians/Vegans with several entrees so my hungry vegan daughter was excited to sit down & dig in... unfortunately, their definition of "Veggie" Tostados was not adequate to feed a baby rabbit much less my ravenous 17 yr old daughter just after a work out. Fried tortilla with shredded lettuce, a sprinkle of chopped tomatoes & 1 slice of avocado for garnish does not make a meal. The server felt bad when we complained there were no "veggies" on the Veggie Tostados & used her employee meal to get more slices of avocado for my daughter. That was ridiculous in & of itself...why can't a server let the kitchen know the customer isn't satisfied with lettuce on a tortilla as a dinner entree & have the kitchen add red & green peppers, avocado, beans & rice to make the entree as it should be...like true VEGGIE Tostados. I had to ask the server to tell the manager it was unacceptable before the manager came out & deducted the $9 charge for lettuce on a fried tortilla. Please be forthcoming with vegetarian/vegan dishes...they are not just the regular dish without meat & cheese, leaving only lettuce filler & garnish. Quality, nutrient-rich veggies must actually replace the animal products to provide sustenance for the person, not rabbit, eating the dish you're offering on the menu. How can a restaurant owner conscientiously charge $9 for an entree that is only fried tortilla with a handful of shredded lettuce in the first place? The 3 stars instead of 1 is for my enchiladas which we're pretty tasty, the cold Dos Equis on draft...& the really nice server who was doing her best to make up for the owner/kitchen/management who's responsible for the lack of substance in the Veggie...
Read moreThis was our second time dining here. The first time was exceptional about 2.5 years ago. This past visit was certainly a huge turn-off and the reason being was where we were seated, we could see inches of dust and bugs. The waitress was walking around with a bug zapper because of the amount of flying insects. 😳 The bathroom toilet was clogged and disgusting. I was told this always happens and it's an easy fix. So I had to use another restroom which somehow the door was locked from the outside and it took fifteen minutes for someone to gain access. I hate writing poor reviews, but this experience was less than par. At the end, before we were leaving a huge beetle walked along the edge of our table. We were done with our meals and decided never again. The place was honestly filthy. I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. I was going to snap a few pics but decided we'd never return and I'm sure they already know how dirty it is kept. We were seated at the corner table near hanging lights and the amount of dust and gnats dead on the lights was enough for me to lose my appetite. The waitress was lovely and friendly. I just know we will never return. It was a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I'd love to know what their score is based on inspection. This place needs...
