Paper Trail Books — Local services in Royal Oak

I like this place truly, however I was ignored by the staff. Not even a hello after being in the store for ~20 minutes?

To her credit she was helping a man who was selling books to the store. She couldn't help him so the owner had to take over. I saw the owner enter and I was happy that maybe now this would free her up so I could ask questions.

She then helped someone who appeared to be either a friend, a regular or both. She seemed more interested in conversing with this customer as opposed to checking in on myself or another customer that had been in the store almost as long as I had.

Excellent Used Book Store!!! They had the book I've been looking for a long time! I tried John King and some others, but, couldn't find it!! Dicey's Song by Cynthia Voight is a book that I read as a teen and wanted to read again! My Heart was Very Happy to have found it here! This wasn't a planned trip, I took my daughter to another store and to pass the time came here, and Wow! I'm so Glad I came! The worker was So Nice and helpful! I got the 30 year old book in hardback, which he said, was a very rare find! Run don't walk the Paper Trail Books! You just might find a long lost book from your youth like I did! The price was Right, $6.50! I was thinking about ordering it online, now, I don't have to worry about it! I'd much rather help this...

A nice used bookstore. Moderate sized, not so small to be niche but not so large that you can't find anything. A good selection that is well organized with various neat and clean titles. A good mix of hardcovers and paperbacks in a wide range of sections. Prices seemed fair to low compared to what is typical for used bookstores. In addition to books, they also had a small inventory of new books, comic books, CDs, and records.

It has a pleasant open atmosphere, but I wouldn't describe it as a cozy place to sit and check out the books.
