hihi — Local services in Royal Oak

i typically love going to hihi royal oak with my friends. today we went into for the trading event, one of my friends came in to trade a item that was in a box(not sealed) just to be protected. he walked past the check out and the male employee wearing all black with a beard was talking to his coworker saying he thought my friend was stealing. meanwhile there’s other people at the trading events with the same protective boxes around their trinkets. my friend being a black male felt like the employee was racially profiling him, which he was 100% doing. after he profiled my friend, he asked to take a photo of him and his brother, which they are both black. which is overall super weird being that the employee didn’t ask for a photo of anyone else (at least to their knowledge). this is super embarrassing that one of your employees is going out of his way to incorrectly profile innocent people, do better hihi. we are genuinely very upset, you really made my friend who use to look forward to coming here to buy blind boxes feel very...

Do not support this place. I went up there three times to decide which bearbrick to buy. These things are $200+ for a plastic figurine and I was so excited when I finally made a decision. I went back to pick it up and the salesperson Patricia told me the owner wasn't willing to sell the one I had picked out because it was "part of their personal collection". This was such a huge disappointment. I had literally held it in my hand the previous day and been offered it. I had planned to buy a large collection of these over time and originally trusted this place to supply them. After this I will never go back. Also to bearbrick fans this place is 10-20% more than reputable sellers on eBay and stockX. I didnt mind originally because I wanted to support a local business but clearly the owner is more concerned with their personal collection and making money over the opportunity to gain a new customer who would generate thousands of dollars for them over time. This is one of the better anime/japanese gift stores Ive been to in the states. They have tons of anime and sanrio plushies, blind boxes, keychains, accessories, all for basically any series you love!!!!! absolutely perfect for gifts (gift store, duh lol.) Great prices, just what you’d see online just minus the annoying shipping prices from japan hahaha. Pretty limited selection of manga, however you’re probably not coming for that so it’s no disappointment!!! Five stars. If I didn’t live on the other side of the country, I’d come all the time!!!
