This is written by an 85 year old Vietnam veteran being a retired Army and Federal Civil Servant for over 40 years. On January 24, 2023, I visited the Hobby Lobby at 3093 East Main Street, Russellville, Arkansas 72802 shopping for a poster board that I could use as the backing for a 2x3 foot land survey. After about ten minutes, I located exactly what I was looking for in a double compartment display. The one I wanted on the left was larger than the survey and was priced at $1.99. On the right was a smaller one that was priced at $2.99. The two prices were on 8 ½ x 11 inch copy paper and large bold characters for the price. I figured they had the two reversed. No problem for me “at that time” because I was willing to pay $2.99. I went to the young cashier and when she zapped it, it was $8.99 (I believe). I said oh no, that’s not what the price at the bin; it is either $1.99 or $2.99. There was another woman in the front section that I had already noted was piddling around touching this and that and acting like she was busy earning her pay. She stepped-up to the cashier counter and pulled-out a sales pricing sheet that I had never seen and measured the poster board saying “no, you are wrong the price is $8.99. That’s when things went awry and I asked to see the manager, but the woman haphazardly shrugged as if the manager was not available. I asked the woman to come with me to the back and see the price as posted. She refused so lazily that I couldn’t understand her even with my hearing aids and by that time there were several women behind that had joined the fiasco. So I said send one of those women back with me to verify and she refused. There was an employee young man behind me and I said to send him. Whether or not she approved I told the employee to follow me and he did. We both saw the same thing as I described with those pricing sheets taped on the bins. I recommended that we switched them because it was obvious the wrong pricing sheets were posted in reverse; and we each did just that. I took the board back with me to the cashier and said I was right and she zapped the board again with me holding it and the price reflected the same $8.99. At that I tossed the board to the cashier and told them all that I would never visit Hobby Lobby again and stormed out! I’m having a very difficult time “letting this go” and seriously considering a lawsuit. Adding insult to injury, this is the second posting attempt because I got a reject for the previous one and this one would not post without giving HL at least one star; and time after time would not allow the posting: Hobby Lobby Posting review in progress, 0% An error occurred. Read moreHO HO HO ! HOBBY LOBBY Just in time for Christmas my review is my gift for you. The owner has just stated that he will basically give away the company to help with doing the Lord’s work. A really great and positive thing to do. Here you need to snag a shopping cart and go aisle to aisle to give yourself lotsa retail therapy. There is so much here for the decorater or hobbyist, not to mention furniture. Halloween and Christmas decor galore. All sizes of Christmas trees so if you need to have a micro Christmas you have mini trees that you decorate with mini ornaments. Big Christmas you say? Got it, big ol megalon Christmas trees that will scrape the ceiling on your mobile home. Whole lotta metal signs mostly amusing sayings. Plastic flowers galore for your next creation or for cemetery decoration. All kinds of frames for your new graduates diploma from the alternative learning center , public school, vocational career, or college. My favorite department here is the frame shop. I always find the employees here so helpful and full of creative ideas for coordinating frame colors , borders and museum glass and their turnaround time is really quick. Locally I believe this is the only frame shop. They have a jewelry section where you could spend hours. Also they have a large line of artist supplies, paints etc. They sell a large line of artwork and do it yourself frames. If you decide to take on a new hobby they have shadow boxes but I didn’t see any micro furnishings to complete your project. You could definitely get lost here and use your imagination overtime here. Please bless them with some of your Christmas money today. Thank...
Read moreJust to alert Everyone I can, under the management of Ray (the store manager) and assistant manager Ruthie, there is a high turnover rate due to how they’re treating employees. Examples are: they are withholding staff to stay 2-3 hours past the end of their scheduled shift to clean up by locking the doors and having to ask permission to leave, (The correct thing to do would be to include it in their schedule and start them later on accordingly so they’re not doing mandatory overtime), Not allowing staff to drink fluids except during their breaks, which sometimes the last break is 5 hours before the actually go home!(there needs to be a 2-3 areas of designated drink stations to accommodate staffing needs), and not allowing staff to go to restroom except during their breaks (I’m almost positive this is illegal). They are abusing the small amount of authority they have of managing a store to stoke their ego. This is coming from someone with management experience in the nursing and healthcare field. Ruthie and Ray couldn’t hold a candle. So if you see a distressed worker, please be nice to them. Employees are getting sick working under...
