Maurices — Local services in Saginaw Charter Township

I have never been in this store when it was in Fashion Square Mall. Today, I had a little time so I decided to walk in. Upon walking in, there was a salesperson at the door folding clothes. She didn't acknowledge that I was in the store, no greeting at all. There were two salespeople at the register talking. The bell of course, "dinged" when I walked in. Yet, none of these salespeople heard the bell when I came in, apparently didn't see me either. I walked around the store for about 10 more minutes...no one asked if I was looking for anything or if I needed help. Usually I'm greeted with at the very least a "hello".... Funny thing, these two older women came in. The salespeople came out from.the register and were damn near so close behind me, that if I'd stopped they'd walked into me. They offered to the two ladies help, answered questions about whether the store had shopping carts, and commented on their choice of what was "nice" on the table right inside the doors. As I opened the door to leave, not a single word to me. Was it my hair, my absence of wonder about the clothing in the store, or my mere existence as an African American woman that prevented them from caring enough just to say hello? I don't want to think it was the latter, but what could make three obviously non-visually-impaired...

Holy moly, I’ve never felt more appreciated in my life! I went in in a panic because I needed a dress for a wedding I have to attend in a couple days, and Vicki helped me out so quickly! She came and checked on me near the dressing rooms when things weren’t working out, and within minutes had a handful of dresses that were what I was describing to her. I came into Maurice's looking for jeans yesterday. I left with three pairs, when I probably would not have left with even one, if it weren't for the excellent customer service from the employees. Nicole helped my find things that were my size and style and kept me interested in my shopping trip.
