Rio Luna Tacos & Tequila — Restaurant in Saginaw Charter Township

I waited for my 2nd visit before writing a review.

Tonight, 11/13 I came in for 2nd time after the Mgr at the hotel I've been staying at for last 47 weeks suggested it. It was at 7:50 pm.

My takeaway. DO NOT COME HERE.

1. Only Mexican restaurant in the USA, I have ever visted where they do not offer or ask if you want chips/salsa if you sit at the bar and are solo.

2. The bar speaks loudly of "do not sit here". No salsa trays, bartender or anything.

3. After working 16 hours, I wanted a few drinks and dinner. Bartender kept dropping hints of him wanting me to leave.

4. I finally asked "what time do you close?".

Bartender "10pm, but as soon as we get you out of here and convince our last table to leave, we are going home".

5. After only being here 40 minutes and rushed to eat my meal, I paid and left. As I was leaving, the server for The other table said something to the last guests mid meal, and they got up and followed me out having left most of their meal on the table.

6. I've never seen a restaurant work so hard to not want you there - of all the places I traveled for work in the entire USA.

7. To the owners: if your staff does not want to serve people 1.5 hours before close and convinces them to leave, you need to shut your doors for good.

Clearly you and your staff are just phoning it in.

8. To everyone else, I highly recommend going somewhere else. I ended up at Logans, told.them my story and they are now giving me half off all margs for rest of the night.

Long story short, this place does not want you here.

They need to close...

Love the food but we just had the worst experience there. The service sucks. Our food came out before our drinks even came to the table Waiter brought our margaritas out to us after we already had our food and still had not brought us our water 20 minutes after we ordered it . When finally got margaritas it did not taste right . Wasn't going to wait for the waiter so i took it to our waiter behind the bar and told him it did not taste right 25 minute after ordering water still did not have water also, finally i went up and said still waiting on our water he said i will bring them out to you , i said no i want them now , you also told me you were bringing them 25 minutes ago . I am freaking thirsty it is 90 degree outside and you bring us salsa that is hot and food and nothing to drink except a margaretta that did not taste right that i took back .after we finished our food he finally came back and asked us if we needed anything , I said ya I am still waiting on my margaritas. He said we'll i asked you if you needed anything else . I didn't know that when I took him back my margaritas that he needed me to tell him I wanted a new one . I figured when I told him it didn't taste right he would make a new one and bring it back to our table. After the entire experience I was just ready to get the hell out of there . Love the food but service needs a lot of improvement was not happy customer...

Even though we've visited this place previously, our latest trip took place on a particularly hectic Friday evening. The restaurant was crowded, which noticeably impacted the service. While the overall experience was satisfactory, the service left something to be desired.

When our food was served, we still hadn't received any silverware, and it took several minutes for the server to come back with it. To our surprise, as he started to cut into the beef burrito he ordered, he realized it was actually chicken! So the burrito had to be returned. The wait for the beef burrito did not take too long.

Another unusual detail we noticed was that the Mexican rice included peas and carrots, which was a first for us! Additionally, my quesadilla was served on top of my refried beans, making it soggy and impossible to eat with my hands. While this wasn't a significant issue, it was yet another indication of the kitchen being under pressure.

On a positive note, the food came out promptly and was quite tasty. Nevertheless, they did lack in service and presentation. Will we come back? Most likely! A few small issues won't deter us, especially since the food was...
