Got a new fridge because my old one was getting older, ice maker stopped working. Picked out a new unit, find out we have a plastic line coming up from the basement, need to replace it with a stainless steal line, better shut off valve. OK, makes sense, pay a plumber 200 bucks to run the new line. Fridge gets delivered, both guys are super nice. They say they are not allowed to connect the water line because the shut off is downstairs. I say ok, well it is shut off right now, can I connect the line to the fridge, go down and turn the valve, you let me know if we have pressure, they say sure. I connect the line, turn the valve, yup, we have water, all good. Next day, still no ice, call up, they say well it takes 24 hours to see any ice. OK. Three days in, still no ice. Call again and are told it is a minimum of $100 to send someone over and figure out why the brand new ice maker does not work. I am not sure what I am going to do to get my ice maker to work like it should, but I do know I will not be paying them another $100 just to come look at it.    Read moreNot pleased at all! I bought a dryer there for the Black Friday sale and chose to have them install it for 40$. I’ve been wondering why the house smelt so good and warm after every use, it’s because they never hooked the vent hose up to the dryer! Also my girlfriend bought a set of expensive furniture at same time and we thought it wouldn't be a hassle to partially finance it. Low and behold they never sent the bill and instead sent a credit card that is preloaded.... so she calls them and they say they have nothing to do with the finance bank and told her to call them. Unimpressed that there’s no other options for monthly payment methods through total home center. She was never told that she was getting a credit card from her sales man. Her sales man was convincing and guaranteed that all paperwork would get sent in the mail. Well the credit card didn’t arrive until a day before her bill was actually due and the bill still never showed up with the amount due that month. Definitely gonna think twice bout...
   Read moreSo I decided to give my local store a try and ordered a fridge. They delivered on time but we had folks staying at our camp (and using the fridge) reporting issues. I finally figured out the problem - the door was installed incorrectly. I was quite perturbed and called on a Saturday afternoon and left a message, thinking to myself I should’ve gone with one of the big box stores. Well first thing Monday morning I got a call from an extremely friendly service rep (Chris). I explained the problem and he went to our camp and had it fixed in 15 minutes. Issues are a part of life - it’s how the issues are handled is what matter. THC stepped up big time and provided EXCELLENT customer service. Would one of the big box stores have been able to do that?
