I absolutely love White Traditions! I actually found the store completely by accident, but I wound up finding my dress there. I was intending to visit another shop in the area but discovered it was the store's destination wedding branch rather than traditional. They directed me to their main branch, but I'd seen White Traditions on my way in and decided to stop there first. This turned out to be a great decision.
I walked in without an appointment and I was welcomed anyways. They told me to go ahead and pick out some dresses. I found so many gorgeous dresses and they even had most of them in sizes larger enough to fit me (size 16-20). I was quite impressed with the selection since it was a small shop. I'd been to a much larger store but it seemed all they had was polyester dresses. After that first store, I thought I'd have to raise my budget to get what I wanted, but White Traditions had quality dresses at wonderful prices.
Trying on dresses was a great process. Jessica definitely knew what she was doing and was able to quickly (but correctly) lace me into my corset gowns. The first dress I tried on was an absolute winner. Even with this, I wasn't pressured to buy. I tried on the rest of the dresses, coming back to the first one a couple times. In the end, I decided to buy the first dress (still without any pressure!). I was very happy since it actually came in under my initial budget (which wasn't terribly high).
When my dress came in, they discovered that it had a snag. They called me to let me know that they were immediately sending it back to the manufacturer and a new one would be sent within a week (this was no problem because I live out of town and wasn't visiting until a month later). Once the replacement was in, I came in, along with my sister-in-law and flower girls, to try it on and pick it up. It was just as great as I remembered. I also found a veil that day. Additionally, my flower girls also tried on several flower girl dresses but just didn't find the one. The staff was very patient and didn't pressure us to buy anything.
A couple days after ordering my veil, a family member offered to make my veil for me (I completely forgot she made veils!). I called up White Traditions and they were able to cancel the order for me - no guilt or pressure.
White Traditions is absolutely wonderful. They have a cute shop, high-quality gowns, and attentive service. I highly recommend you check them out if you are looking for your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a great experience here, especially with Brooke, my stylist both times I came in to try on gowns. Brooke was so fun and upbeat and she really got my style and what I was looking for unlike other bridal salons or stylists who didnāt or maybe couldnāt offer the the type of gown selections/styles I was interested in. Based on my experience, White Traditions easily has the most unique and interesting dresses to choose from. They arenāt all traditional/basic bridal gowns which is what I was going for. I would recommend that they list the designers they carry and some example photos from each one based on what they carry on their website (or maybe they did and I missed it) as I had to first research the dresses I liked, then find out who the designer was and then dig to find out which stores in STL carried that designerās gowns. So it was a three step process to even know where to begin to shop in STL. I came in the first time to try on and found a gown I thought was āthe oneā but found some Justin Alexander dresses online afterward that I hadnāt ever seen before. Brooke pulled whatever she could for my second visit to make sure I could try on any other options and then decide. I ended up falling in love with the Justin Alexander dress on my second visit instead and Brooke was so helpful from start to finish. The shop has a great vibe and is super cute and cozy versus some of the other shops I tried that feel like they are rushing you out the door. I highly recommend White...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWARNING - THEY ASK FOR TIPS! Having not shopped for a wedding dress in 25 years, I was blindsided at the register by requests for tips. Not a verbal request, but a request to add a tip by the POS and LARGE sign asking for them using a QR code. The register is around the corner, so you don't see it until you are paying. Literally blindsided by it. I would be giving this 5 stars, if it wasn't for that. The overall experience was actually very good, but I am rating this one star because of they have jumped on the "everyone deserves a tip for doing their job" bandwagon. The experience was no different than it was 25 years ago. A friendly sales girl brought us dresses to try, helped make the dress look like it fit, stood back while we talked about the dress, then rung up the sale. She did a good job, but did not go over and above by any means. Certainly didn't do anything to warrant a $200 tip for spending 90 minutes with us (the suggested 10% at the POS). I was appalled to get to the register and see a rather large sign. I understand some POS systems do not have a way to remove the tip option, but that sign?? Since its been a minute since I had been wedding dress shopping, I decided to research if its the norm. I found several posts on reddit about people being blindsided and awkwardly adding the 10% tip because they had no idea. That is...
