I've been here many times actually, and have enjoyed my experience.
Very disappointed in my recent experience here and the shop employees were disrespectful. I had previously called in earlier in the week to reserve a table for 6 for a special birthday brunch in the afternoon. She forget to ask my name. We played voicemail tag, in which I gave her the name and reiterated the time. Upon arrival, they were packed but I was happy because we had a reservation. We were told no more seats. There was a reserved party of 30+ in the back. I stated we had a reservation, and they told us they thought our reservation was earlier (40 minutes prior) and we no showed. No phone call, nothing. They told us to leave. I argued a little, because wth? No call? Nothing? The reality is they valued the party of 30+ more than the party of 6. I'll bet if they didn't show they would have gotten a phone call. It's rude. I was angry since I had made reservations, specifically for outside. Problems like this are how businesses fail because they stack bad decision upon bad decision. Hopefully they train their staff better.
However, won't be back due to what it led to for us - - a very stressful time trying to figure out what to do next and where to direct people, and ended in a cluster with the person even breaking down crying. We reserved 1, didn't eat lunch until 3:45....
Read moreI will start this reveiw saying I am a coffee snob. I love that St. Charles has so many small businesses that offer coffee. I've been here on 3 separate occasions with my friends or spouse and each time we all agree that their espresso is TERRIBLE. The first 2 times the very nice employees remade our drinks and it didn't make a difference - its just the product.
They use "String Bean" coffee beans and it is honestly the worst espresso I've ever had. It is constantly sour. You can't even save it with milk and sugar it is so overbearing and and low quality.
If you're coming here for an espresso drink go elsewhere.
Course Coffee is a few doors down and they roast their own beans and they're constantly amazing. Picassos on Main Street is really good for coffee and espresso and occasionally has live music. Upshot is also really great and roast their own beans (probably my #1 favorite).
I hope this business improves their espresso offerings. The coffee symbol in their logo is highly misleading considering how little they care about thr quality of their coffee. I would honestly rather go to Starbucks than ever get another...
Read moreFew things make a safisfying afternoon better than a lunch and venue that hits the spot. Ready to get tasty food, warm atmosphere, owners that care and a full tummy all at the same time? Time to stop in to La Belle Vie to check out how Frenchtown (St. Charles, MO) is thriving, surviving and making true impact on the local community. I stopped in to visit at lunch today and got a Ham & Cheese Omlet. When it arrived it was not just an excellent portion for the money - it was pipin' not. Nothing will derail a meal faster than food that doesn't warm your bones. No danger of that here. The flavor was perfect, the multi-grain, lightly buttered toast was the perfect crunch the Omlet beckoned for and what I needed to satisfy my always-present carb fix. I'm also appreciative that the menu is Large. Regardless of whether you're a plain 'ol Omlet dude like me, or looking for something more involved, it' s all here at LA Bell Vie. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and an excellent lunch or dinner getaway. I look forward to making La Belle Vie the centerpiece of my next lunchtime escape from the rigors of The 9-5. Great...
