Mackinac Straits Fish Company — Local services in Saint Ignace

This is a must stop for me when I want amazing smoked fish. I get the smoked trout and smoked whitefish, making sure I pack crackers :-).

They have other types of smoked fish, fresh fish, lemons, crackers, maple syrup, mustards, cold fish dips, and have a frozen section. They offer ice as well.

The artwork for sale changes each time I go—it is local and beautiful.

It is a small, unassuming building. I found it when Family Fare had the parking lot closed for resurfacing and I had to park in a different spot—right next to the Fish Company. I first noticed the mural.

Terrible reception today! I called two days ago, the rep was enthusiastic, accommodating, engaging, and ready to inform abt shipping fish to another state. He stated they ship on Tuesdays. PLUS I was referred to them by a fellow business in the area. I called today to make an order, and the guy was dismissive, discouraging, told me they didn't ship this time of year, and extremely off-putting! Been stopping here since I was a kid on family vacations, great fish, great service, friendly staff!! Noticed i had a flat on my camper when I pulled in there one weekend returning home.
