I had a not very ambitious plan of swimming in all 5 great lakes during our vacation. It was not a very challenging task considering we were in Michigan, Ohio and Ontario, but based offour itinerary, the most accessible place to swim in Huron on our trip which wouldn't put us out of our way was at this beach. Surprisingly even though Huron is a warmer lake than Superior, the water here was a lot colder than at Brimley the previous day. There is a good distance to the shore of lake Huron to go between playing on the structure and swim. The beach area is a bit rocky. It is dog friendly. There is parking at either end.
