The double decker bus is certainly eye-catching, but the ice cream was terrible. I ordered a soft serve turtle sundae and my wife got a black cherry hard ice cream w/ waffle cone. The sundae was awful. The whip cream was runny and dripping before the server even gave it to me. There was almost no caramel, no chocolate whatsoever, tons of pecans on one side of the dish, and the ice cream was melting. I took a couple of bites and ended up throwing the rest away. My wife said that her cone was not very good. The quality of the ice cream seemed supbar, and it just didn't have much flavor. She ended up ditching most of the ice cream and just eating the waffle cone. Maybe it was just a bad night, but we certainly won't be going back. Hopefully your experience is better than ours.

They were pretty busy, but it must not be from...

Literally tried this ice cream option b/c I'm an icecream snob and the reviews were so mixed.....I actually originally went and got a baby scoop for the taste tester, but ended up going back for more!

Cute delicious stop in my opinion. Went up to the top of the bus to really relish in the double decker experience, the view did not disappoint. However, this is where the rating went down for me, it felt sticky and dirty. I literally grabbed the photo and enjoyed the pier walk out to the lighthouse instead.

The Icecream itself was top notch, very flavorful and not to hard not to soft. Tried the Cookies and Creme, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanutbutter Mackinaw Island Fudge, and Moosetracks. None of them disappointed!

Staff was quick & friendly. Prices were...

The kids working this should probably be trained better. My waffle cone broke in my hand as the worker handed it to me, it was in both of our hands at the time of the break. She looked at me as if she had no idea what to do. As someone who has worked years in customer service, I cannot imagine not offering to immediately remake it. I had to ask for a bowl to put it in, and then had to ask for a spoon to eat it with. I was also given a lot less ice cream than my friends who ordered the same size as me. I wish I hadn't tipped. Don't work customer service if you expect the customer to problem...

Enjoy ice cream on a real double decker bus, right out of jolly old England! This place offers much more than ice cream, but I believe their ice cream and other sweets are what makes this place awesome! Great views of the Straits of Mackinaw await you while you dine and Double Decker Ice Cream, might even catch a lake freighter going by! Easily seen from the roadside with a variety of parking options! Service is quick and courteous! Come get your dessert and enjoy the sights and sounds at Mackinac Double Decker Ice Cream!

The ice cream was excellent. The ice cream shop is made out of an old fashioned double decker bus. The flavors were unique 😉 and tasted wonderful. We sat at the tables outside and enjoyed our 🍨 ice cream 🍦!!! It is a must stop for an awesome cone or bowl of ice cream. It came in a variety of sizes even ones small enough for the little ones.
