My family and I visited on Friday, July 26 around 8 pm. Our meal was ok , however we had a long wait. I understand it’s peak tourist season, however when you quote someone an hour, and after an hour and half of waiting to witness multiple tables completely open and cleaned, it can make you a bit frustrated. What set me over the edge was when I went to check in with the hostess to see where we were on the wait list, I was given attitude and a passive aggressive response. I approached her in an openly friendly manner because I knew she probably had a lot of people asking her “how much longer?”, and I was friendly and patient, yet I was met with complete attitude for no reason. I walked up front to the waiting area after waiting an additional half hour, and was waved over by the hostess, for her to then tell me that our table wasn’t ready and she’d seat us in a few minutes (even though the table we sat at was already cleaned and set ready for us). I was met with even more attitude and eye rolls when I apologized and told her that I thought she had waved me over, which then she denied that she did . Then, a few minutes later, the hostess rudely pointed and commanded me to “go get your family” to get sat down. This experience was not worth the hour and a half wait. I was also incredibly frustrated when their online menu prices didn’t match what was on their actual menu. We chose this restaurant based on the prices online. It’s very sad that we decided to treat our family to a dinner out, and we did not enjoy our experience whatsoever. You would think businesses and their representative (staff) would appreciate customers wanting to spend any money in this economy by treating them kindly at...
Read moreMe and my husband went for dinner on Sunday and the food was amazing but the server was not. She already gave me bad vibes because her attitude wasn't the greatest. It came time to pay and I put my credit card in the booklet for her to take and pay for things.. about 10 mins later the lady came back talking about the booklet is empty did you guys put your card in here. I immediately stood up and started searching for my card, if you've been you know that the floor is a deck and it possibly can go in between the wood planks.. the owner was VERY nice and cool about things, he took off the lattice and crawled underneath to search for my card a couple minutes go by and he didnt come out so I just expected the worst, owner was willing to give me money to drive back home to GR and everything we got each others numbers and he told me he would be taking apart the deck to look further later that day and yet never got a call or text saying they found things so clearly my card was never found. I just want to share so everyone knows that it might be best to bring cash if you go here. Also I really hope the owner sat down with the waitress and had a stern talk about how she needs to be more careful. Being a server taking people's cash/card is something that you do every. Single. Day just something that needs to be taking more seriously or she needs to take things a little bit slower.. all in all the food was wonderful and the owner was VERY nice but if I were to go back I would make sure to...
Read moreThe Gangplank is a nice little restaurant located in St. Ignace, Michigan. The dining area is a covered patio that resembles a seaside patio. You even have a great view of Lake Huron! They have a variety of items on the menu from an appetizer of roasted shrimp cocktail, and a "vampire" bread that is loaded with an intense roasted garlic butter, then topped with a generous amount of cheese!! Then they have fresh fish dinners where the fish comes from the waters of Lake Michigan, and Lake Huron. They also have ribs, and a variety of sandwiches, and burgers as well. We had the Bbq pulled pork sandwich, and the "Count" burger. The pulled pork came with a generous amount of pulled pork that was very tender and juicy. It was topped with their housemade coleslaw, and buffalo mayo, also made in house. The "Count" burger was a quarter pound patty topped with their "vampire" butter, lettuce, tomato, and a buffalo mayo. Both were on a nice brioche bun. If you didn't have any side, they deducted a dollar from the bill. The burger was cooked perfect and was very juicy. Our server was Ronda, and she was very friendly and always checked on us to see if we needed anything, and she always smiled. The place was packed with guests. If you go to St. Ignace, make sure to stop at the Gangplank for a great meal, with great service...
